Extraordinary Claim Made by American Geneticist

Quote:
The human species began as the hybrid offspring of a male pig and a female chimpanzee, a leading geneticist has suggested.

The startling claim has been made by Eugene McCarthy, of the University of Georgia, who is also one of the worlds leading authorities on hybridisation in animals...

In its conclusion he writes: 'I must admit that I initially felt a certain amount of repugnance at the idea of being a hybrid. The image of a pig mating with an ape is not a pretty one, nor is that of a horde of monstrous half-humans breeding in a hybrid swarm.

'But the way we came to be is not so important as the fact that we now exist. As every Machiavellian knows, good things can emerge from ugly processes, and I think the human race is a very good thing. Moreover, there is something to be said for the idea of having the pig as a relative.

i think the far greater "wut" moment is this:

"and I think the human race is a very good thing."

lol, shut the fuck up

apparently Hawaiian's love the Spam because it harkens back their cannibalistic roots during Kamehameha's rule. The Spam taste a little human, or so the notion goes.

that Machiavellian quote just doesn't make any sense, like, at all. if he's trying to say "like every clever person knows, good things can come from bad things", okay. then say that. Machiavellian /= "clever". using big words does not make you smart, dumbass.

i think he's just referring to the ends justifying the means, i.e. it was worth it to be a chimpanzee-pig hybrid even though the idea of a chimpanzee getting it on with a pig is repugnant

aldi had some scandal where they were selling "up to 100%" deer meat as beef

went by an aldi the other day and they were still selling beef like nothing happened

you'd think they'd acknowledge it in some way, no?
