No you should worry and sweat that something you like is disliked by someone else!

I like the punk rocks b ut at this point is just another form of classic rock. dont understand the worship. imagine how you look at young persons still wrapped up in hendrix and zeppelin. thats you

well let me ask you an honest question i am honest curious. what are modern punk b ands doing today that is doing something new and different and challenging the status quou of music? it seems like genre music

by that i mean the sounds of punk were mostl y invented decades ago and after the 80s new punk bands are mostly just tapping into a fully formed genre. so genre music. a lot of like metal

well two punk scenes coexisting at the same time can produce entirely different sounding music

like even first wave punk bands out of CBGB sound nothing like first wave UK punk to my ears

you could probably say something similar about metal but I don't see people talking about metal as if its classic rock even though there were once super popular metal bands

yeah i dont disagree. but i dont see new punk as being all that new or innovative and it cant really keep true to the spirit of original punk becuas e its all been done at this point. its not challenging or subversive any more. most art forms can not stay fresh for four decades. i like punk musics im just curious to understand the way you look at it because i see it the same way as other classic rocks. its cool and theres a lot of good m usic and if someoen wants to be the led zeppelin of 2016 that is cool but it's all in homage att this point the music has become a form. looka t how jazz was seen but now it is taught in public school

i see metal as classic rock basically. is not even that there arent good new metal bands because there are. but they aren't innovative or saving music anymore. they playing "the genre" you know?

well most "indie" bands are post punk bands

I feel like post punk and post rock might be the natural conclusions of rock music and we're still in those eras but idk

I still see bands trying out new things in post punk in ways that I haven't heard before even if they don't create an entirely new genre

and it's the vaguest genre possible so calling it genre music only loosely makes sense

would you say arcade fire is post punk

thats like ultimate indie band of the last decade when I think of indie

i agree that r ock seems mostly done though. it is becoming more novelty, genre type music. difficult to do new thngs with rock guitar at this point

yeah I think so

the fact that you can still tell the difference in sound between it and an 80's post punk album tells you there is evolution there though

Please don't base your decision on what city to move to upon the upcoming gigs at local dive bars.

I would agree that something like Delta Blues wins in the purity department in that it's the type of music that gets combined with something, you know, it's like a raw ingredient
