What Nick Cave solo album do I start with? I'm finding it hard to get into though I absolutely adore The Birthday Party

Basically that statement or any variation of it such as "better than Radiohead" is never true
flaming lips' later stuff is better than radiohead's determined "later stuff"

soft bulletin vs. in rainbows

yoshi vs. limbo

you kiddin me?

very difficult question. being the post-punker that you are, try his first record - 'From Her To Eternity'. it's fucking dark.

Are you kiddin ME

In Rainbows TROUNCES anything Flaming Lips have released ever

There is no possible combination of Flaming Lips songs despite their long career that would make for a better listen than In Rainbows

100% spot on, and neither of those two are my favourite Flaming Lips records either

I don't know what to say to that.

I am a Radiohead fan boy though. It's not a cult thing, it's more like a homosexual thing towards Thom and his feels inducing voice

this band could masturbate into a handkerchief, and the result would be the greatest album ever according to the Cult

fl just really brought it home in the late 90s/early 00s

i'm not even a huge lips fan, way bigger of a radiohead fan but in terms of each bands' timelines fl were making handsdown some of the best albums of their career in 97-01 or 02ish

in rainbows... that's a nice calendar cover with a HaLlOwEeN! version of big boots, perhaps

See, I think In Rainbows is as good as pretty much anything Radiohead released, but it seems to be their most polarizing record

Pixies for me are a frustrating band, because they never made that perfect record that they were capable of

haven't heard that much breeders but what you're lobbying off includes doolittle so imma have to approach with a heavy dose of skepticism at best

This is super unpopular to say, but I think Doolittle is stupidly overrated. Surfer Rosa is sooooo much better it's not even funny.
