I went to the show last night...some random points.

-World Premiere of Silver Sometimes? Totally fucking shit song, even live.
-The visuals and costumes make no fucking sense, however 1 or 2 seemed normal and cool on the 2 big screens that moved.
-The seating on the sides were quite empty, I couldn't see jack shit so I just left standing section and walked right into a £90 seat no problem.
-Billy's voice was really weak in the parts when it needed to be good, like the scream in butterfly or on mayonaise, soma etc but on the whole he was OK considering his age and fatness.
-Some really weird moments in the set like cherub rock and it went into a bit of a lul with Try Try Try. Stuff like Eye and Beginning are just weird live, they kill the crowd and Billy is so awkward without a guitar.
-Crowd was pretty frickin loud, didn't realise how many people loved Cherub Rock. Crowd went bit mental for all the hit songs, was cool.
-The ending was abysmal, why would you end a show like that.
-Landslide was really nice with the support band's singer.
-Band sounded good though and it was a nice to see the holy trinity on the same stage.
-Billy shredded with the guitar as usual, love it. Jimmy nailed it obvs.
-James was so awkward on the microphone when talkin to the crowd, no where near his natural banter like old TSP or Perfect Circle.
-They needed to play Ruby and where was Muzzle?!

As expected, I only went because I found a cheap ticket but I would have no way have spent a normal priced ticket on it.

So, let's count also this in the "abandoned-(after-loud-annoucements)-things" endless list of things he does to alienate his fanbase, please

So lame...

Good news is he had a series of small strokes and has reverted to his normal singing/screaming voice

He no longer remembers his partner and kids but I think we can agree that overall this is a net win

personally, I'd find it more "alienating" if I'd go to a solo show in Milan or the Sp show and his voice fully craps out from the start, I'd rather have a cancelled gig over a musician ruining his voice.
3 hours? London, flight, solo gig, SP gig in a row might be more than his pipes can handle.

Would also guess it's his voice. At least in the end at the London show it didn't sound well.

He's still well enough to post new messages:

Ok, but did he discover it only at 7:00am, on the day of the (acoustic) show??
He planned it for the 17th, not us.

Honestly, it is clear that he didn't want to play.. day off today! fuck those 500 fans, who cares about them..

But, of course is Netphoria that is so full of negativity and untr00 fans, for sure.

fair point. I have the sad machines virus today. Negativity? I don't know what that is.

I went looking for my "binder full of SP", found it at the bottom of a storage box. There were also the only tapes in it that I kept when I gave away my collection. Mix tapes of live recs from the 90s a friend made for my birthday.
I'll excuse myself from proper fuck-you-b0llzebub-posting today.

Doubt, that it would be so easy for Corgan, to take a day off, without getting problems with Live Nation, who also organized the little concert in Milano.

At least there might be healthy or unhealthy reasons, they don't want to tell officially, why they dropped the gig.

Cancelling the Milan show to 500 people wouldn't be anywhere near as problematic as cancelling the sold-out arena show, with the full Shiny and Oh, So Bright production in Bologna. His voice was sounding rough by the very end of last night's gig, I suspect he's sacrificed the smaller show to ensure he can do the bigger one.

Should have just let James do it.

It was great and I was into the whole thing. Loved the stage show and his hats in particular. My only real disappointment was that he only wore his best hat for Baby Mine. That hat deserves more songs.

Vocals were rough at times and he made a big obvious mistake in the batman song. Band was generally a bit loose and some songs were a bit too slow but as an experience it was A+

Silvery Sometimes was fine and tonnes of people were singing along. In the moment it fit in with the rest of the songs fine.

Another possible reason for his health issues:

He got it wrong!

Really enjoyed the gig, SP & related show number 13 for me. Not the best I've seen them but very good. I liked the Strawberry videos far more than I thought I would, they added a lot of drama to The Beginning Is The End and the Adore section. Porcelina was hugely enjoyable. The production as a whole was great - I paid £90 for a Golden Circle ticket and that didn't seem like so much of a rip-off after all with the quality of show and length.

I was definitely expecting more of a solid narrative with the statue and the blonde girl from what I read. There didn't really seem to be one from what I could work out, if there is it's a lot looser than I thought. Not a complaint.

On the downside, a lot of the more aggressive material def needs more energy pumped in to work properly. The Everlasting Gaze fell flat and I really missed the screams. Space Oddity seemed to break up the flow completely and Billy's outfit was very Assassins Creed at this point.

A big part of the 90's sound was bad singing technique, basically yelling into the microphone. Some people are gifted with bullet proof voice boxes, but a lot of the grungers (who have managed not to kill themselves) can't sing like they used to. Proper singing has a smooth, effortless sound to it that wouldnt have fit the angry teenager vibe, so even if they knew proper technique, it might not have served their art to use it. I'll admit, as someone who admires good vocal performances, his present day singing puts me off, but I understand and appreciate that he couldn't keep up what he was doing forever.

He could just say this though. People would still see him play and wouldn’t think he was an arsehole.

But he chooses to float his vocals in production and can’t at least emulate his old style on record suggests wrecked vocal cords are the least of his problems.

And he’s generally sounded much better live than on record since 2007.

Yeah man this is what I thought, more rockin' songs needed to be in there. When they did play them the crowd certainly reacted.
