I'll drink Tacate or Victoria Bitter or in a pinch Carlton Draught when i'm on the ropes. When i'm flush though I lash out on something imported (Sierra Nevada IPA Lately - finally found a good american beer!)

Well, I'm kind of a giant at 6'4" 350# it's mostly subtle insults with those kinda dudes, that like 'challenge' philosophy. Most muscle bound dudes want to immediately assert dominance and try to push me out of the scene. Not sure what drives it tho, kinda weird really.
And starla don't get upside down about shitty folks, they'd be shitty regardless if you fit into their parameters of judgment or not. Always just be tall |

I was horrified to see Sam Adams and Blue Moon stocked in my local beer place yesterday. Currently enjoying some of the home grown beers like Red and Black Cuillin, The Hebridean, Arran Blonde etc.

I was taking my anger out on some of these guys who are anal about their beer. I have nothing against you and your good beer.

Bad beer sucks. Bad beer can be dirt cheap or very expensive. However most expensive beer is at least decent, whereas the majority of cheap beer is undrinkable.
Someone tell redbreegull the Natty Boh swill he called local is brewed in Georgia by Pabst. |

I was thinking the other day that the next time I go out, I'm going to order a bottle of Budweiser just for the hell of it and a taste of home.
the only beer you can find on tap here is Tiger, Carlsberg, or Heineken. All pretty much the same basic lager. You can also order bottles of all three plus bud, and sometimes corona. One place i know has little creatures and i found Rogue at the expat grocer for $6/bottle. starla: you're beautiful. |

these days there are tons of beers of which the recipes used to belong to other beers and got gobbled up by bigger labels, or extinct brews that got revived by different companies... I forget the dude's name, but there was a beer scientist type fellow who is responsible for a number of recipes for different labels including sam adams, anchor steam, miller lite, etc. |

is okay, not really cheap here...50 miles from the source thereabouts
i've been digging on modelo especial lately, the negro modelo ale is one of the finest ales that exists on this planet but their lager is competitively priced and rather tasty |

negro modelo is fucking delicious
I know we've had this argument before, but I just do not understand beer elitism. There are definitely bad beers that are just bad (and expensive), but there are also cheap beers which are good. I'm not saying they can go toe to toe with superior craft beers or anything, but a lot of bargain priced beers are so innocuous I don't understand the compulsion to be a snob about it. It's like refusing to eat a greasy cheeseburger sometimes because you only eat beef prepared by four star steak houses. on top of that you have cheap beers like yuengling that have cult followings mostly because of their marketing, and people will swear that yuengling is great beer when it is only half a step up from pbr. basically there are cheap beers that are good and expensive beers that are bad |

i think i paid $8 for a six pack of bottled modelo the other day. maybe its my imagination but the darker the beer the worse the hangover so i stay away from that stuff even though i like it, unless i'm just having a few with a meal or something (which i'm guessing is how 'normal' people drink)

I used to drink Old Style and Red Dog. I puke a little just thinking about it.
A case of Modelo cans is $22 at Costco. $15 or Tecate. |
