Default Live Compilation - JC Playing Adore

Made this

https://mega.co.nz/#!ypMhBRjI!bwoUxD...3DtEXflZhxyJj8

Preferred versions with James, but Crestfallen, Anniedog, and Nightmare are from the SHREDDER era and also feature Billy's new vocal style

Unfortunately Jimmy never played on Daphne Descends or Appels + Oranjes (or 17)

the intro fill to tear is the best thing in the world. check it out

Thanks a lot for doing this. I had been doing the same thing recently but got lazy. I wonder, has anyone compiled an adore rock version? There are a lot of alt live versions that are pretty rocking.

I guess I'm a casual fan. I had no idea "Tear" got played in 2000. Learning things like that makes me appreciate just how tight this band must have been that they could randomly pull out songs at a handful of shows and have them sound great.

Perfect sounds glorious and For Martha has "Vintage Pumpkins" written all over it.

They only played that version of Shame once, too, at the last show

If they put out the album like this....damn. From a musical perspective and a public reception perspective

Machina Tear has always been criminally underrated. So good.

I just want someone to make some really cheesy cover art for this. Like maybe JC's head photoshopped on the Adore girl with the album title changed to JC Rocks Adore.

From listening to this I'm glad Jimmy didn't play on Adore. His drumming just doesn't fit the material well at all.

The songs would've turned out drastically different than any version we've heard had Jimmy been involved with the arrangement process from the start. It's not as if Adore would've been the same record + Jimmy's drumming slapped on top.

Even the live versions we have here have to be somewhat faithful to the "official versions" Jimmy had nothing to do with. He did the best he could to add some of his flavour with the songs already locked down.

I think Jimmy would have enough respect for the concept and songs that he would not jack off all over the simplicity techno/orchestral theme of the album. He was already going that way on MCIS with Love or Lily or 33.

These live versions are just cool alternate Machina style versions of Adore songs. It's not like the album would actually sound like this.

And even if it did, it's not like it'd be bad.

It's weird to me that some people seem to feel Jimmy couldn't handle a more acoustic subdued record. He was spot on on By Starlight, In The Arms of Sleep, Galapogos etc. It's not as if he was wanking all over the place on those, for Christ's sake.
