On a side note, the beginning of this new track will be perfect for rolling through the hood with the windows down and the system up.... BOOOOOM BOOOOOOM |

meh, i don't feel a concept in this song. it sounds just about as cheesy as every other NIN song. Despite that, it's easily better than anything on the last album. I'd like the lyrics to read, if by chance anyone had them but since it's a leak i doubt it.

I'm sure someone has transcribed them out over at EchoingtheSound.org but you will have to wade through a ton of fanboy messageboard stuff to find them.
EDIT: Linked directly off TheNINHOtline.com You and I, we may look the same But we are very far apart There's bullet-holes where my compassion used to be And there is violence in my heart Into fire you can send us From the fire we return You can label us a consequence Of how much you have to learn You can try but you'll never understand This is something you will never understand Can you hear it now? Hear it coming now? Can you hear it now? On hands and knees We crawl You cannot stop us all Our bones, our skin We will not let you win You have set something in motion Much greater than you've ever known Standing there in all your grand naivety About to reap what you have sown Time will feed upon your weaknesses And soon you'll lose the will to care When you return to the place that you call home We will be there, we will be there On hands and knees We crawl You cannot stop us all Our blood will stay We will not go away On hands and knees We crawl You can not stop us all Our blood our ways Will never leave this place We crawl We crawl We crawl We crawl |

Trent is beating the Machina Mystery into the dust with the stuff he is pulling to promote this album. This thread
http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbb...er=asc&start=0 is very entertaining. Some people have put the static at the end of the track through a spectograph and came up with this. http://img408.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ingshitea8.png Kind of interesting, but more so when you consider this picture off one of the unveiled websites: http://www.iamtryingtobelieve.com/images/content_02.jpg The guys on EchoingtheSound are taking fanboy interpretations to Toolish levels, but I have to admit it doesn't seem like a coincidence. |

Huh? This whole Year Zero thing isn't even Trent's work...he hired a firm to do the promotion and it seems they are doing the bulk of it. Trent may have had the idea, but some nerds are doing the heavy lifting. Perhaps bill should have done this for Machina.

To clarify, I think Trent had the idea for the whole thing but brought in an advertising firm to help him flesh it out. Trent has been vocal in his political leanings lately and obviously is trying to make an album that is beyond thunderdome. If he did in fact mean to ******* an image in the spectograph (a la Aphex Twin) then obviously he would have had to do that himself. However, nerds are the ones programming his websites and including images to match Trent's original image. If in fact the image from the original spectograph is true (haven't confirmed it myself, seems that people on the other board have) it will probably be the cover of the album.
Also... there seems to be a reward system in place. As people on boards are uncovering stuff new things are popping up (like the flash drive with the leak and new websites). If I'm not making sense I apologize, I have been up for many hours. |

no reason to doubt the spectrograph, and it's pretty obviously The Presence.

Granted, it's all more than little silly. But, it's fun just the same.

the whole album mystery stuff is bullshit.
they say that fans found the ip of some of those websites by putting together highlighted letters from nin tour shirts. FALSE, trent actually had one of his cronies leak a url within a fan community. |

i dont care at all for another machina mystery bullshit wannabe concept album, less a political one, but I think musically it'll be ok.

I've listened to this badboy several times and I'm loving it. I was hoping this record would be a more electronic outing and it seems really plausible since Trent recorded it mostly in hotel rooms while touring with just his keyboard and his Mac.
I apologize to my 4th grade teacher for the run-on sentence. |
