Default Anyone recognize this show?

This is the best picture I could grab; it's a 118-minute concert/documentary on a historic film website. The footage is purchasable but probably at a decent fee. There is like no more info beyond that.

definitely a pajama show, i'm pretty sure i've seen those circular lights at the top in a boot.

the amount of detail I can see from a 160x120 thumbnail makes me really wanna try to get this video

Permission shot for the band, likely from either the soundboard area or a VIP box.

Does Corg realize how bad his vocals are nowadays?

I think the band is Smashing Pumpkins, but it doesn't sound like their recent stuff so could be Moby or A Perfect Circle idk.

edit: yes, I bought the footage to check.

i love this thread & quite frankly i hope this type of thread pops up more after this, asking about shows with a very small thumbnail with the thumbnails in question getting increasingly smaller 'til it is actually humanly impossible to discern any actual detail from them

in short: no, i do not know

comments on that youtube video suggest both http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1996-01-02 (the phoenix, toronto) and http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1996-01-30 (soma, san diego).

I've never heard this version of Rocket.

Do you think Billy understands how much money and exposure he left on the table by not putting together official live records and alt versions over the last 20 years?

Consider that 25 minute Vancouver Silverfuck never got an official release.

Sure, rewrite a ton of your songs, work in new songs never performed again, guitar jam straight for hours.

And then bin it off and release Run2Me.

Corgan is a mad lad.

I think it's actually from Bill Burr's last US tour, but I have no idea which stop it was. Also not sure why Bill Burr is being posted on this forum...maybe it should go in the general forum?

It's not 1996-01-02. I have 1996-01-30 VHS tape with me, i'll give it a peek a bit later to see what it looks like.

Confirmed it's 1996-01-30. This tape is only 60 mins long. Wonder what the 118 mins of footage is. Obviously there's an unclipped master tape somewhere that needs hunted down.

splra only mentions a 55 minute video source (not yet circulating): http://www.splra.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tsp1996-01-30

Tonight Tonight, Today, Soma, Rocket, Where Boys Fear to Tread, Zero, Fuck You, Here Is No Why, To Forgive, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, and Thru the Eyes of Ruby (cut).
would this website have more footage of the same concert?
or did they add other stuff?

118 minutes still wouldn't be the full show. complete audio recording is 153 minutes.

Not sure which side you're landing on here, but in terms of effort I'd say

Switching up versions of songs and closing most shows with a 30 minute jam > Run2me.

as in, just that version of rocket. they already had the structure/chords/lyrics down, right? so i have to imagine that's less effort to alternate than write a whole new song?

and that alt version is worth 5 trillion run2mes
