Who's NOW? *Samsa Region - Mayfuck (1) vs. Travis Meeks (8)*

Who's Now? is a tournament between the top 32 active posters on Netphoria. What does it mean to be "NOW?" Being NOW is partially based on what they post on Netphoria, and what they do off the message board. Seeds are based solely on post count. Each matchup will have it's own thread so we can finally determine who's NOW!

In today's matchup in the Samsa Region, we have the eight seed Travis Meeks going against the top seeded Mayfuck.

Mayfuck is well known for his threads demanding specific board action, his left-leaning politics, alternating between AIMing people and blocking them, and complaining about how things aren't as good as the good old days. Also he is a mexican. Travis Meeks is a college-educated moderator who returned after an absense both from the board and his home state of NJ, and can usually be found discussing sports, pop culture, and alcohol. He is also rumored to be in a sexual relationship with I Ate My Hamster.

Today Netphoria, you will decide...... who is more NOW? Is it Mayfuck or Travis Meeks?

Mayfuck is one of this board's icons, but as he himself will tell you about the old days, his time has past. In attempts to stay relevant, he tries to AIM and PM with new female posters.

Let's face it though - Meeks embodies what the board is NOW. He's much more current and hip and certainly gets the nod for off-board adventures.

Mike's well-reasoned arguments notwithstanding, this one is so so easy.

Mayfuck, as a deranged of a guy as he is, is a big part of why many people "enjoy" (read: spend time on) this board. Meeks is not so "NOW" as to overtake Mayfuck's omni-present nowness.

but damn, a lot of people really do (see neopryn's post above).....and a lot of the people are the people i'm interested in (geek usa, avian chaos, nimrod's son, trots, patrick, ******, etc)

mayfuck has been completely irrelevant to the pumpkins board for years now, opens up shitty threads there and celebrates himself as 'the board diva', as if it is something to strive for.
his desperate attempts at relevance and presence among the new generation of posters reminds me of david hasselhoff.
