I'm not one to recommend music but I'd consider it a personal favor if you were to listen to this one:

The music is really cool but I'm too old, white and middle class to really listen to something with those vocals.

But the spacey bonkers production (just love it when jr scientists run fuzz and other malarkey on top of acoustic guitars) has won me thoroughly over. To the point i can’t stop listening, gotta hear what happens next.

And maybe eventually i can connect with this dude’s sorta overwhelming confusion or whatever it is that he seems to sorta feel. But the music and the melodies and stuff are wicked. And maybe im just being prejudiced against this guy for no reason. What did he ever do to me? Yeah. Clearly a personal problem. So anyway.

Thanks!

there's a whole cult around this guy. i've never been able to get much into him, but i really like this particular song:

out of some sense of morbid fascination, i did spend a little too much time a few years ago with the initial album about his wife dying

it was barely listenable in nearly every respect, but there was a caliber of bleakness and truth in the expression of his grief that was stunning and terrifying and affected me in very unpleasant ways for nearly a week straight

i don't recommend it

got spooked bad

I've been using the service to check out groups I never got around to, like Hawkwind. Spent 3 days ripping through their discography.
