It is beyond me how it could be taking this long to record these songs. It seems like Billy wants to just fuck around and do nothing with his life and occasionally release something when he feels like it. Which is fine, but stop fucking promising us all this shit you are not going to deliver on!

I never did like his new music model but I was willing to give it a chance. So far it has turned out as poorly as I thought it would. All of these delays and slow-process is making me lose interest fast. I don't know how Billy came to the conclusion that releasing songs this way was much more effective than releasing a cd. I would rather pay the cash to get a cd. I just get the feeling that Billy really doesn't care much about making music anymore. He seems much more interested in his spiritual website and writing his book.

This song better be fucking mindblowing or Corgan can consider this project dead interest-wise from the fans.
As some stated in this thread, I'd much rather pay a measly 15 bucks for a CD rather than being drip-fed liquid shit for 2 years for what will probably amount to 10 songs. |

Really hope he just gives up on this shitfest. Considering how bad song for a song was, there's simply no way this album can be good. By which I mean that song alone drags the quality down so far, that on average the album could be meh at best.

i feel the same way. but i don't want to get angry about it. i just don't care.
i mean, nobody is forcing you to follow this song per song thing. you can always wait a bit until a group of songs gets released and then listen to that. i assume these song per song releases are fun/interesting for only a small group of people. if you're not part of that group, just let it be. no? i can imagine i would have been excited about an album being released in this "absolutely groundbreaking" way ten years ago. now, not so much anymore. but there must still be people around who like this. good for them. no? |

Just download any show from last year's anniversary tour and you'll have half of teargarden already.

Comic Book Guy: The last Smashing Pumpkins single was, without a doubt, the worst song ever. Rest assured I was on the Internet within minutes registering my disgust throughout the world.
Bart: Hey, I know it wasn’t great, but what right do you have to complain? Comic Book Guy: As a loyal listener I feel they owe me. Bart: For what? They’re giving you an entire album for free. What could they possibly owe you? If anything, you owe them. Comic Book Guy: [hesitantly] ...Worst single ever. |

You might have to give him 44 chances.
I really doubt he is going to go through with this, and even if he does it is going to be sidelined by other more current projects like his book/ converting the world to his own view of God. |

yep this sure looks a misguided approach. song for a son, on reflection is better than i first gave it credit for (except, the ending still blows) but i don't see the huge development of the song in the studio. if, as expected most (all?) of the first EP will be re-worked existing tracks then why the drip-drip approach, especially as they've all been recorded for whet? over a month. it is total cock-block as far as momentum is concerned. at the current turgid rate of release they'll only have the first EP out by the time they commence touring again in the Spring. the way i see things timeline-wise is this: * we get the next 3 songs released by March * sometime next month Billy goes back in the studio to work on the next EP * they start touring in, what? April * the 2nd EP gets released during the tour. * Billy writes the songs that will comprise the 3rd (possibly 4th) EP whilst on tour. * Depending on how extensive the touring is, no more recording is undertaken until the tour's conclusion, which figures to be i don't know, maybe mid-late Summer? Good grief, Corgan... Last edited by RenewRevive : 01-05-2010 at 10:13 AM. Reason: laziness |

I'm thinking of going on an SP blackout until 2011 so that I don't have to go through this shit every month and also get to listen to all of the 4 or so tracks released by that time together as a cohesive collection

This.
I think the project could have really drummed up some excitement if he had kept to the previously-stated deadlines. If the music was halfway-interesting, free, and coming out at regular brief intervals, it could have been something, and drawn out a little interest beyond the hardcore fans. Releasing one song to some mediocre fanfare and then dropping off the map for over a month will only help solidify his "former Smashing Pumpkins frontman" status. |

there's no need to walk out. it won't take much longer until billy completely gives up the name, just to get rid of all the demanding fans. and then we'll have to wait until he's out of money (will it ever happen?) before we see anything out of those archives.

I don't know how he's not expecting people to lose interest after 6 or 7 weeks between releases. I already don't give a shit.
