Speaking of cheddar. Grafton village raw milk cheddar is good for mass produced cheddar. Otherwise, local. Pls no orange stuff in it. Eat with apples. Mmm no cooking involved.

Basically it's a Tuna fillet just lightly seared on the outside rare on the inside, that you serve with a sauce that is basically soy sauce and lemon juice.

i've one tuna steak left in the freezer; that sounds pretty good, man. i typically never eat the last anything because i've been programmed to leave it for others. i'll wait to make it on night when i just gotta cook for myself.

I'm making pork loin filled with cheese and bacon today. Only downside is I planned poorly and it will be ready by 3pm instead of noon. Oh well

cooking has become my calming companion. it's transformed my life. i recently went about 8 months with limited/no: salt, sugar, dairy, meat, wheat, fat, eggs or spicy. (usually 2 weeks on/a few days off, but never extreme binges). i learned a LOT.

yesterday:

leftover lentils+veggies
mixed in a pan with some pasta and a tad of cream cheese.
it was like lentil stroganoff.

My brother made pork chops the other night and I had to nuke mine after he'd cooked it, until it was like a piece of leather, and then drown it in cranberry sauce, to eat it. I just really don't like pork. I'm a bad Samoan. I guess a lot of people must felt the same way about lamb.

I just opened a can of tuna, drained out the water and gave it to my kitty, and ate the rest with a can of low sodium v8. #thisis31whenyouhavenofamilyanddontcook

probably going to heat up some frozen veggies in a little bit

i have a cold, it's not really that bad but i didn't go to work today. so i don't have much food in the house as i was going to shopping today. i really wish i had some fruit right now. i did have some clementine juice which i expected to be awesome but it's actually kinda gross. i love clementines but i wouldn't buy the juice again

it's much more of a mind thing than a physical thing. it's just fascinating to watch where your mind goes and what it does in different situations.

it starts small...craving the basics like sugar and salt and oil. so you tend to overcompensate; you'll eat a huge flavourless meal and still be 'hungry'. so you want more. and you realise that your body isn't craving food but flavour. it has all the fuel it needs, you just want sensory gratification. you can smell every ingredient in every meal you pass. so you work on moving your mind from the romantic perspective to the pragmatic. you just let it go after a while. food becomes a secondary thing- fuel. and you learn to identify colors in food and what they mean for your body. i generally feel out what colors my body is craving and go from there.

then you start seeing where your mind goes when you think of certain foods. and the weird 'distraction' things you end up doing instead of snacking. you can learn a lot about yourself.

then as time goes on you start to get creative with what you CAN eat and end up learning a lot about food and how to make simple things have a lot of flavour. then after a while your body really digs having fresh food all the time and processed shit makes you sick. soda is way too sweet. you can taste chemicals in food.

it is hard to maintain. and it's also interesting to see what happens when you're like FTW I'm getting a pizza.

so i don't know about aesthetics......i guess eating beautiful food makes it more appealing when there's no salt or spice. but when you work with fresh foods, natural colors have an organic way of being beautiful on a plate. aesthetics are the last thing on my mind when i cook.

no sexual activity is peeling back one more layer of psyche. all part of a process. and the results are largely the same, but with sex: why does my mind go here and not there, why is sex so important, why why why. oh oh oh. breath breath breath.

i think the most interesting part is how the universe responded:
within days of assuming full celibacy 3 people came into my life more or less offering what i've been looking for in a fwb sort of way. i've had to alter my dealings in town to try and avoid feeling certain energies that throw me off.

i live alone in a rural area. i have to walk 45 min to town if i want to get food or anything like that.
cut out sugar and salt and oil and orgasms. no Facebook no phone.....you become very sensitive to energies. you realise how much is transferred between two people during sex and are much much more discerning with your partners when you learn this.

like i said, it's super interesting.

more on the sex thing:

you also learn how much vital energy you lose everytime you come- (you end up going through similar 'overcompensation/pizza' episodes like with the food). you notice the difference in your vital energy between days when you haven't come in weeks, and the day after you decided to jack it 4 times.

i cut out porn years ago, but also learned about the energetic implications of that. none of it good.
