The tournament hasn't even started yet, and already those vuvuzelas are pissing me off. Some guy in the neighbourhood thought it was a good idea to practise his skills on the damn thing last sunday morning. The television broadcasts are going to be terribly annoying as well. I think there's a general ban for the thing in dutch stadiums.

i loved that story about the dutch papers.

we haven't been getting much coverage of the spanish warm ups over here so it's been hard to gauge how they are playing. so impressive on paper ... their bench strength is phenomenal.

1 more day. i'm going to duck out of a party on friday night to watch the opener. can't wait.
cmon new zealand!

But yeah, nice vibe here.
well, if it weren't for Sepp Blatter, you wouldn't have the tournament at all. He simply bought African votes for his re-election this way. He is the one that should be responsible for any potential trouble.

do they provide the dress in different sizes? It looks nice.

Good luck, Maarten. I have nothing to complain about - I am just a bit sad there is no Ruud - after all the stuff he has done for your team. I hope you root for Suarez tonight !

I dont think one person will get murdered. Lots will get robbed. In Germany they had 7000 cases of robbery, assault and such.

You guys have no idea about vuvuzelas. No clue. This place has exploded.
I work just outside town and right now it sounds like a stampede there.
In fact I just went to look and it was a troop of Australians, at least 50, all armed with vuvuzelas walking down the road. EVERYONE is hooting their cars, there are flags EVERYWHERE. I could film at any point over the last 3 days for 30 seconds and you would hear vuvuzelas, loud music, hooting, people shouting.
The atmosphere is amazing, and positive.
Some relly crap SA bands got showcased at the party last night. Meh.

Game kicks off in a couple of hours and this place is INSANE!

ESPN needs to kill the audience mic, you can't hear the announcers at all. It's unwatchable.

I can hear every comment just fine?
It would be stupid if the commentary got drowned out, since they record from sound proofed rooms, and often not even from the games directly anyway.
My understanding is that the commentary audio tracks and the stadium overheads tracks are run through seperate channels, and easily adjusted.
