I have to say I was wrong, the 30 sec clip is probably the worst part of the song... this song fucking rocks!

Makes me even more excited is that this is the 5th track on the album and Billy loves to put the "great" songs early in an album....so i'm assuming there's a whole lot of awesome shit like this.

Default Tarantula is a 7.5/10... but better vocals would have made it a 9 out of 10. Agree?

His voice just isn't... there. He's 40, I know, but he just sounds so passive for this song. They're not horrible vocals, but they're not great, either. It'd be better if he screamed a few parts Bullet-style or something.

Yes? No?

Seriously, just rename the Grammy Awards this year the Corgans - he's winning them all with this effort.

This makes Gish sound like OK GO.

Are you sure the song is Harmonio? It says it goes to 7:16 on spfc, but it really goes to like 7:21.

Did I say I hated the song? I gave a different viewpoint. I gave it credit for what it did right, and said where it fails, and everyone jumps on the negative comments. Overall, the song works as a radio single, its just not a pumpkin song.

Wow. I'm so glad I stayed in the office for lunch today. This song is really good...I can't wait to hear the rest of the album! That 30 second clip was sounding pretty bad, but now that it's been put into perspective with the rest of the song, I like it a lot.

I'm so glad they ditched the Machina sound.

The song is a good 1st single. I agree with people who say that it feels like a bit much cramped into a short song but it doesn't completely destroy the flow. If the album is full of songs like this I will be disappointed but it works as a reintroduction. Hopefully some of the other songs will have more room to breathe but I am encouraged that Billy seems to gotten back to the rocking.

Ethel on XM is currently s'ing this songs d and hopefully other stations will as well. There is something satisfying about hearing new Pumpkins on the radio.

Really, you guys don't get it:

For the past few years, Billy Corgan couldn't beat his own cock if you spotted him a drum of petroleum jelly and 25 velvet gloves.

Today, Billy Corgan's cock stands tall like the Washington Monument - fully erect and a giant "FUCK YOU" to anyone who fails to be ambushed by his musical genius.

This is Billy Corgan's 9/11. He's letting the world know he's serious, and he's ready for war.

This is big hit material I think, the only potential problem I see is the lack of a decipherable, sing-along chorus. There are some equally progressive songs out there on the radio though, the White Stripes' new offering "Icky Thump" for example, so who knows? I hope the masses eat this shit up and put the Pumpkins back on top. Since Billy just released the best rock song out onto the radio in ages, he deserves it.
You've not listened to much Cash or Pantera have you?

WHat I like about the quiet part is that just when you think the song ends, it keeps going. The beginning of the quiet part sounds like the typical outro, except its used not as an outro, but as a springboard for a great intro - something the Pumpkins have done live lots but havent really ever transfered to the studio.

i will agree with the comments that his voice isn't as glorious and affecting as it was back in the 90's. BUT I still think it sounds good... just not as good as it did then. The song could use of few well timed screaming 'YEEEAH!'s but again all this change the fact that the song is really great and a lot of fun.

I have listened to plenty. That song has the same "boom chicka boom" groove that made Cash famous. Put that groove under some Pantera chords and you have the same groove...or at least that is the way I hear it.

Perhaps to some extent he did recycle some of those riffs... I mean, only Pumpkinheads would know that they're retreads...
