a hell of a year

this year was pretty fucked up, wasn't it? it's pretty hard to wrap your mind around it. between this gosselin (sp?) shit (can we add the hedi/spencer, spears, lohan crap under the same umbrella), balloon boy, tiger woods barebacking a dozen woman, lady gaga hitting the scene in a major way, black people and lesbians finally gaining lots of positions of power, H1N1, the death of MJ, that dumb bird dropping baguette into the big particle collider, finding an earthlike planet outside the solar system, and a zillion other freaky things, this has been the most, um, exciting/fucked up/major (?) year of news of my lifetime.

anyone want to (a) propose a more fucked up year in history or (b) add to the fucked up story of 2009.

i kind of hope 2010 is boring. it's been pretty interesting, but man, if the crazy factor doubles in my lifetime my head's gonna explode.

2 minutes into 2010 I met a girl who proceeded to destroy me pretty severely. She was pretty much the centre of my universe for the first 5 months. I was working a sweet job, went on holiday to melbourne on PAID LEAVE with my tax return, went completely apeshit for two weeks, came back and we decided to move over there. I quit my rad job, sold my basses and packed all my shit up and went to melbourne two weeks ahead to secure work and she was going to drive over with a friend of mine. The day before I left she told me she'd been sleeping with the guy who was driving her over.

I went to Melbourne alone, couldn't find any work for 6 weeks, finally found some work and then got ripped off completely by the shady boss for all of the money that i'd earned when he skipped the country, was forced to go back to Perth for lack of funds, got a lift in a hippie convoy (mistake) across the fucking nullarbor desert (which was in fact pretty fucking cool i must admit) and then got dumped in the middle of buttfuck nowhere by the hippies when they decided to abandon perth to go straight to a doof party in the bush.

Then I got back, found a job and started to get on my feet again and now this girl has moved in literally ten doors down the road from my work.

At least i've learnt some shit.
