The only times I hate billy is when he is being a total prick to fans, all the other stuff (WWMM, wrestling, conspiracy theories, trash talking other musicians, playing timpani, Byrne, Solara etc..) is just too goofy/funny to be genuinely angry about.

was excited for zeitgeist in 2007, but went to one show and walked out for the first time. didn't even stay until the end, it was the beginning of a greatest hits feel and he and jimmy were obviously churning through the oldies with no emotion whatsoever.

i appreciated his appearance on alex jones. thought what he said on the show kind of spoke some sense to alex.

WWMM with choir was a risk. didn't pay off, i don't hold it against him. whatever. i am probably the only fan who will openly admit to enjoying almost all the TGBK songs. i thought that model of releasing music was fun and i liked the music. it was different - happy, even.

i thought oceania was a fantastic bore and didn't care for how he discarded nicole and mike, but hey, that's show business.

monuments was embarrassing, but i still held out hope. hell, i think tiberius is a fucking great track.

i guess with the d'arcy thing, i realized he's the least authentic artist i ever followed, and my following was predicated on his authenticity. once that was lost, there is no going back for me.
Is this a copypasta or sarcastic? Pretty hilarious

I'd also add the Chicago Theater show in 2008 where he called everyone fags or whatever. Just embarrassing. He was a guy unwilling to accept that he'd never be as popular as he was in 1996 and lashed out at the only people who still gave a shit. Which was followed by TBK and what is unarguably the absolute worst music he ever recorded. Oceania was a (slight) upswing after that but Byrne was an embarrassment and I think most people had stopped caring by that point. I hadn't thought about SP as a living, relevant act since the beginning of this year.

The nadir has been Teargarden and Alex Jones, and all the shit Billy says to the press.

The real nadir will be if any allegations surface about Corgan. Seems like it would've happened already if there was anything, but there are so many anecdotes where he is an abusive asshole it makes you wonder.

I doubt there was ever any physical abuse but he certainly seems like the type who would mentally and emotionally abuse a partner. Hopefully not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Embarrassed to admit i fell for the Lucky 13 thing. Thought it was legit and would be great, and felt burned for the last time when it soon became clear that it was all half-baked.

Also, American Gothic music was worse than most of Teargarden.

Just found out about the American Gothic EP through your post. Might have to pass on listening to it though. I wanted to like Zeitgeist, I really did.

I liked American Gothic, especially Again and Sunkissed. Rose March was decent. Pox was a bore, but whatever. I certainly liked those songs better than the majority of the Teargarden stuff.

American Gothic was the end of listening to TSP for me. I remember liking the guitars on the Rose March and that Sunkissed was trippy.

American Gothic was good. Don't understand the negativity on that one.

American Gothic butchered the Rose March, probably the best song he wrote between 2008-2018

the layered vocals sound like a cat that is about to throw up

the way the line "I just can't help say so" where the "kuh" in "can't" sounds like he has a wad of phlegm in his throat is the most vile thing I've ever heard on a Pumpkins record
