I'm 27, so I never had a chance. Tbh I thought I'd never have a chance to see Failure or HUM either considering they stopped making music before I got into them but look what happened! Maybe the Pumpkins will reunite too. HA

But I never saw the original Pumpkins Well, 2 outta 3 ain't bad
reprise saw them when she was 11! I'm very jealous. The Pumpkins broke up around the time I was born, lol.

Fantastic Planet is their opus magnum. But I love Magnified nearly as much. Comfort and the new one are okay, but the magic isn't quite there if you know what I mean.

One can hope. I'm almost certain there will be a reunion.

And if you get really into them like I did, Golden (B side album) has some good stuff. And Ken's band ON and his solo album are really good, albeit a little differently flavored.

Differently flavored aka less about misery and heroin and more about love's mysteries and life

Cool, I love converting people because the band is very underappreciated for how talented they are. I still have no idea why they never hit it big. Probably because they can't do an interview worth a fuck and have no stage presence, they come off sounding stupid and drug addled, even when they're clean. They played perfectly both times I saw them but didn't interact with the crowd like, at all. I'm sure it was worse in the 90s when they were actually all doped up.

I love doing that too, although so far I've been trying it with SP. In India, they are not very well known among my generation, unfortunately. My dad, uncle and people from the 90s in general seem to know them, but that's about it.

In my opinion Astronaut and DW is HW are the only good albums by HUM. Kind of like how another certain band only had amazing output for half of their records.

I was never able to convert anyone to SP everyone just dismisses them immediately because of the whiny vocals, in my experience.

I recommend starting with Undone. Listened to the song once and I've been up Failure's ass ever since. Smoking Umbrellas and Pillowhead are awesome as well.

I like their spacier stuff like Daylight, Blank, Heliotropic, Solaris, Small Crimes etc. For their more powerful tracks I like the stuff off Magnified, like Bernie or Wonderful Life. Sgt Politeness is pretty sweet though. I just love every track from those two albums, actually.

Cool. Underrated 90s bands marathon after ~8 hours.

Strangely the first two songs I heard (apart from 1979 of course) were Here is No Why and Mayonaise. Can't remember which one was first. But a hardcore fan got me into them so I didn't have a chance. It was love at first listen. Only after did I realized Zero was even by SP at all lmao.

Heliotropic I definitely agree on, first time I got high I took my old massive headphones and played the song on repeat. Laid in my bed for a full few hours, drowning myself in the experience that is failure. Definitely was one of the best nights of my whole life.
