Speaking of Lawrence, figured you might be interested in seeing the Wakarusa lineup - they announced this initial list last week.
(bolded are my faves, sadly we're not going so it doesn't matter!) * The Flaming Lips * Mickey Hart Band featuring Steve Kimock & George Porter Jr. * CAKE * Zappa Plays Zappa * Keller Williams * Leftover Salmon * David Grisman Quintet * Porter Batiste Stoltz * Ozric Tentacles * The Everyone Orchestra * Lotus * Blackalicious * Buckethead * Old 97's * Alejandro Escovedo * Galactic * Bettye LaVette * Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk * Yard Dogs Road Show * Tea Leaf Green * State Radio * Dr. Dog * Brett Dennen * Split Lip Rayfield * The Avett Brothers * Panjea featuring Chris Berry and Michael Kang * EOTO feat Michael Travis & Jason Hann of SCI * DVJ Mike Relm * Pete Francis (of Dispatch) * Arrested Development * Del The Funkyhomosapien * Limbeck * Donna the Buffalo * Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue * Ryan Bingham * Backdoor Slam * Delta Nove * Apollo Sunshine * Steel Train * The Gourds * Truckstop Honeymoon * The Heavy Pets * South Austin Jug Band * Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad * Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise * The Dynamites feat Charles Walker * Chicago Afrobeat Project * Bump * Macpodz * Tilly and the Wall |

explosions in the sky are pretty awesome live
nothing really on tap aside from maybe random shows here or there, just planning on going to coachella again despite sub-par lineup. |

We're thinking about getting Lollapalooza early bird tickets... Just because a.) we're not going to any festivals this year and b.) chances are there will be at least a couple bands we want to see there. It's right in our backyard and we always end up wanting to go to see one band at the last minute anyway.
I wish Ben Harper would come back |

I'm seeing Dream Theater tonight.
They've been playing Voices and the first four songs off Scenes From a Memory recently, so I'm hyped. |

All I am definitely going to right now is Wilco on 2/23. Other than planning on seeing R.E.M. and Radiohead when they tour later this year, I might go with my dad to Los Lobos in March sometime just so he does not have to go by himself. |

I believe you can just buy a day pass too if you find that the schedule happens to work in your favor for those bands...you don't have to camp and all that jazz. |

The Weakerthans - February 2nd @ Nathan Phillips Square
Caribou - March 20th or 21st @ Lee's Palace Eels - April 4th @ the Mod Club (this was just announced today) Born Ruffians - April 26th @ Lee's Palace The Cure - May 15th @ the Air Canada Centre might go to see Cat Power at the Phoenix next week, but I've seen her on this tour already and I don't think anyone wants to go with me :/ and another maybe: Portishead - April 7th in Amsterdam if schedules/things line up |

And yeah, Mark just let me listen to BMSR the other day, he saw them open for The Flaming Lips...but those last 2 weeks in March are full of shows! And I have a performance! So we'll see how that all works out... I saw The Cure with Interpol at the Tweeter Center, or whatever it's called now. That was pretty fucking great. |

yeah, i saw them on that tour too, and I loved the show. mogwai was also one of the bands that played that day and they completely blew my mind. when I agreed with hardcore's "they suck now" thing it's cause I'm really not into their new/newish stuff at all, and i don't know anyone who really is. i'm still as in love as ever with wish, head on the door, kiss me kiss me kiss me, etc. so i will go see the cure for as long as they'll ever tour. |
