exactly what is all this going to accomplish other than killing the businesses?
can any of you at least think out of the shitbag on your heads and consider the alternate perception? The promo is advertising. Im sure its within their budget. They'd like to increase market or at least break even these days. But you tie it to healthcare which just shows how retarded you are. Obamacare is being forced upon the land that's why it was considered a job killer. Companies are now mandated (not like they don't have enough of that from the Feds already, btw) to pay for healthcare and being stretched thin enough as it is, cutbacks are necessary. These aren't financial institutions with the ability to leverage buyouts, they're originally small businesses that franchised for the most part and most stores are independently owned and operated. They gonna do what they have to do. |

You know omega, it you want people to read what you're posting, you could stop using "retarded" in every other post. Shitbags over our heads blahblahblah.
And I'm sure "they do what they have to", cause holy shit, if they have to pay for healthcare, they might not be able to afford a private jet for Christmas! But I have a special evil Jewish shitbag over my head, and I'm from a socialist country straight out of hell, so my opinion is especially retarded. |

you should be less sensitive and focus on the facts.
what independent owner of a fast-food place or two has a jet? what percentage of them have one? do you know? |

i'm sure prices may go up marginally here and there but the dumbest thing about this argument is we have a mandate that pays for this. disagree with the mandate all you want but this isn't some cash cow that's that being pilfered from 'job creators'
it amazes me how people can be smart enough to build and run a business but have as much knowledge on the ACA as somebody posting on Free Republic from a shack in utah |

raising prices...well, that is an option up until it isn't. there's also a confluence of events in the agriculture realm at present that will force prices upward regardless, not to mention the ongoing devaluation of the USD.
double-dip is what it spells and soon after some storm or terrorist attack or war will divert our attention from the finance mess. |

but seriously though, let them cut hours. it won't take long for it to turn into a massive trainwreck and things will quickly go back to normal. when you need hands on deck you need hands on deck regardless of ideology or greed |

what we're experiencing is the cancerous, pasty republican paw being pried from the power lever. it wasn't pretty after 2008 and it won't be pretty now. only hopefully now there'll be some actual finality to it

So... let's not give these places business thereby reducing profits and forcing them to cut back on staff? Wat.

btw when i worked at albertson's in lousyana they were already doing this bullshit. in 2004. 32 hours was full time (to get benefits) and you needed 4 weeks consecutively for it to kick in so they'd give me like 35-35-35-25-35-35-35-25 so they didnt have to give me health insurance. |

there's one in oakland park or ft lauderdale or something
there was one in west boca when i was growing up but now it's a DSW shoe store. publix built three stores within two miles in any direction (and there was already one in that area) and killed albertsons and winn dixies in west boca/delray/etc all those areas west of city limits near boca the one i worked at was fucking stupid expensive |

i know somebody working for the state who is in deep deep shit for purposely keeping worker hours under 40. i don't want to name names but she is a republican and the media is involved
with retail its kind of a gray area because you have kids coming in after school to bag groceries or whatever. but yeah if youre putting in north of 30 hrs a day you without any mention of full time status you are being dicked around |

it's unlikely that this will result in increased prices on pizza. When corporations engaged in very competitive markets encounter some type of operational cost increase raising prices to their customers is always the last thing they do.
$5 pizza isn't going anywhere. This simply political bitching. |
