Great thread. A lot of excellent picks from everyone.
I forgot a few pivotal singers: Layne Staley: I think he's the most powerful singer from the 90's and any of those grunge bands. Cornells technically proficient but he doesn't emit the raw energy that Staley does Brian Wilson: Just the ultimate pop singer and it still sounds fantastic today. The melodies are still so infectious. I think he and his bandmates are the real "king of pop" Pat Benatar: Just personally love her tones and the whole aesthetics of her voice Sting: just fucking groundbreaking for his time. Timeless songs, timeless vocals. Just a fantastic singer |
