i honestly thought that 10,000 days was a self-parody album when it came out. really hope whatever they do next is good, but not betting on it. really loved aenema and lateralus and still do but but that's about it

I liked Ænima but haven't listened to it in a long time and don't see myself ever listening to it again. Lost all interest when Lateralus came out and haven't cared about the band since.

ugh, the music board used to be all about tool, NIN and Weezer back in the day.
with i_was_aborted defending Maynard's every fart. |

I used to really like them about 18 years ago, but i can barely hear anything likable about them nowadays. pentatonic shit riffs in sometimes - gasp - other time signatures than 4/4.

i just listened to that album by a perfect circle released this year to see if there was anything there -- read a couple reviews, one called it "adult alternative" and another said it was "old man yells at iCloud", both of which seem accurate to me

never heard A Perfect Circle aside from that bitchin' cover of Levee Breaks but what I did hear from the new record sounded alright

friend took me to see Puscifer live in New Orleans a couple years ago and that was... quite an experience to say the least
the opener was a wrestling match, surprised a certain other band hasn't done that yet |

Tool sounds like being stuck in a shitty guitar store in a hick town and someone is just cranking riffs out the line 6 amp that are not in 4/4 for the sole reason of not being in 4/4. Mind_blown.gif
They would not be out of place on a bill with Nickelback, which tells you all you need to know. |

nah some of you guys are being too harsh. tool was a cool band up until aenima. but then lateralus was a little too slick, and 10,000 days really blows.
haven't listened to them in over a decade. but still have a lot of love for stuff like 46&2 and Prison Sex (not literally LOLOL) |

Took is right. First two Tool albums were great. Adam Jones laying down some Helmet meets Sabbath riffs through a cranked Marshall Superbass on Undertow, hell yeah.

Ya'll are crazy. Tool has never released a bad album. 10,000 Days is great.
As for APC... first album was amazeballs, second album was so-so, cover album was blah, but Eat the Elephant is really good. People can hate it if they want but it's a far better album than any of the bullshit Billy has put out in over a decade. |

it's hard not to make this sound too arrogant but they're really not more than a gateway band for getting you prepared to actual great bands |

Back when i was first experiment with the ganjaweeds, and would get super blown/paranoid, my friend would put on the tool videos and it would make me have a real bad trip
That’s some really awful scary visuals on some of those gosh |

yeah i had a similar experience. i had just discovered weed and aenima was super weird and experimental for me. also that was the metal band i listened to which open up a plethora of apocalytical horizon mindscapes.
also i agree the videos were scary. |

I liked the EP and the first 2 LPs but that's it. The 2nd or 3rd time I ever smoked was after leaving a family christmas gathering to drive around with an older cousin while listening to aenima. I hadn't heard the album yet, I just kept asking myself what in the hell is happening? We still had to return to our grandparents house...
