As a Can fan I always disliked the be-bop/r&b nature of that song so maybe they're not the band for you. Although if you feel like trying I would check out Delay-1968 just to make sure. Personally I like Malcom-era Can way more than Damo-era, which is by far the more recognized.

Though right off the bat, in terms of Monster Movie, I want to say if you don't really like Father Cannot Yell (or the rest of the A-side) you don't like Can. Diff' Strokes...

I listened to my In Rainbows vinyl, then the second disc for the first time... Down is the New Up and Bangers + Mash are quality.

Also Faith No More - Angel Dust... extremely overrated, Mr. Bungle is so much better than this band. Instrumentally boring as fuck.

Lastly, Pinback's self-titled. There is so much more to this band than meets the eye. The subtlety of their sound sucks me in, and they are great musicians in their own way.
