I always suspected she resented being a parent, though she tried her best (I think?).

I got the short end of the stick as the youngest, because once she was done with my sisters, she just didn't have the energy to parent me. I was pretty much off the leash from age 16 on. It was pretty obvious that I was in a bad place as a teen but she did nothing to try and help (from my perspective, at least).
