Smile the CN tower does not belong to the dead.TONIGHT it will belong to the 1337 climbers.

as if we could get any nerdier than that...i think we chose a great team name.

ProgressChrome, myself and another friend of ours will be climbing the CN tower today. If you're in the Toronto area, look up...and maybe you'll see us.

it's not a problem, but it isn't a good time. unless you're going down as fast as you can then you get dizzy and its fun

it's too bad they don't have one continuous railing that you could ride all the way down.

sounds like a cool event, but it'd be much cooler if they were climbing the CN Tower from the outside.

a guy that taught me the ropes for rock climbing did some of the maintenance on the glass windows that you can walk on when you're in the Tower. that would be a pretty fun (& scary) job. he got paid a fortune to do it. the guy also holds the world record for the most single-fingered pull-ups.

how many pull ups did he do?

i was thinking one huge slip n slide all the way down - or some inflatable material they make those bouncy castles out of.

i can't find the record. i think he did a whole bunch of regular pull-ups, followed by more than a dozen single arm pull-ups, followed by 8 or 9 single finger pull-ups. i've never met someone with so much life in them as he does. not to mention he's a smart motherfucker.

ok, dumb tangent. getting back to the topic...wasn't there some guy in a wheel-chair that climbed the stairs at the CN Tower too?

i love watching BASE jumping videos. there's one i saw on a BASE jumping enthusiasts site where a guy just steps out of the window of his hotel room (i think in new york?) and just flies through and lands in the middle of downtown. To watch it from his perspective is incredible.

here it is:

it's really long, i think he does the hotel room at the very end, but the whole thing is fantastic:

My dad organizes that climb. For his work at least. I've never done it.

have you seen the one where BASE jumper hits the bridge? he was one of the pioneers in the sport apparently. he and another guy jump from a plane and were planning on going over and under the bridge, where a BASE jumping festival of sorts was being held. needless to say, the guy going over the bridge came up a little short, and the guy going under got sprayed by the blood of his best friend.
