I don't really fucking care if he'd rather pour his time and effort into these pursuits rather than music if that's were his interests lie currently, but why the hell can't he just be honest and come out and say that he wants to take a break off being known as a full time musician to do other things? People could respect that. It's all about his whole identity and presumed ability to make $$$ being tied up in the SP brand, isn't it? I don't think his heart is in it right now though.

I would also appreciate if he didn't dangle a carrot in front of us only to pull it away.
