Can you stop with this. It’s not too difficult. Some people just don’t enjoy it. And that’s ok! Liking it doesn’t make you a more intelligent person.

It’s an interlude? That’s all I meant. It was amazing right into Happiness in Slavery.

Some people like the poppier NIN and find the less commercial stuff too difficult to get into. And that’s okay.

Bad Witch has a lot of jazz groove, Blackstar vibes and that’s not everyone’s jam, it’s a difficult album. Brilliant but difficult

I mean Trent himself called NTAE divisive and impenetrable. And that’s what I love about the trilogy.

It’s more about being open minded and listening to music free of distractions or outside biases which I try to do which is why I listen to just about everything on the radio or not, besides Taylor Swift.

the downward spiral is my favorite and I spent some money to buy it on vinyl. I like the fragile but I don't think there are too many good songs on there, even less reason for it to be a double album than mcis. bad witch is cool. that's it

Probably gonna get stoned and listen to Downward Spiral tonight. I've never really made a serious effort to get into this band

oh like this

it's cause Trent called on T Swizzle and others like her to speak out on Trump this past summer so a lot of articles ran side-by-side images of them. You think Trent inspired Taylor to finally speak out? Or was it that thread on the SP board that did it?

Anyway here's the NIN releases that count, ranked in the only correct order:

1. Pretty Hate Machine
2. Broken
3. The Downward Spiral
4. The Fragile
5. And All That Could Have Been
6. With Teeth
7. Further Down The Spiral
8. Year Zero
9. Fixed
10. Ghosts
Agree with this list

Pretty Hate Machine is the only one I have heard all the way through, and it did very little for me.

so eventually, I think when I was in my early 20s, I checked out the whole album and it was very underwhelming to me. by this time I had moved on from dark heavy music to like Radiohead, REM, and wilco. So maybe I just wasn't in the right space for it but yeah

The Fragile is Trent's masterwork. So many textures and beats and little musical oddities on that thing. I could never get tired of listening to it. You can also hear him coming out of that self-centered angst, which was nice to hear as a depressed teen in the late '90s.
