after watching a bunch of the videos from record store day (stumbleine, soot and stars, baby, etc) I can say that I really haven't heard the b0lly sound this good since the smashing pumpkins came back.
I know, i know, this IS NOT the same band I saw in Toronto in 93, 95, 98, and 2000. But truth be told, I think I get what the man's trying to do... That's why I'm still here, I suppose. Like all of you can relate, I've been left scratching my head wondering just what the fuck the man was thinking, but all the politics involved with the whole SP, SP2, SP3 thing sort of distract from the fact that the man wants to "continue" doing what THE smashing pumpkins were "supposed" to do. Sort of like an "unfinished business" thing (just not in a Steven Segal sort of way). So with all (and i mean ALL) the bullshit in mind, as probably one of the more mature/seasoned pumpkins fans on this board (although im sort of new to it), I'll just say thank "god" that Billy is at the very least SOUNDING as good as he has in the last 10 years... and you know, the songs are a hell of a lot better these days than that Zeitgeist stuff YouTube - The Smashing Pumpkins - Stumbleine |

It seems like more people are excited about Billy playing old songs than anything else he has done in the past couple of years (I know I am).

i did somehow manage to get tickets to the Jay Leno show though, before flying back home. that was pretty cool i guess, since i had never been to a show taping like that before. WMMM (my least favorites of the Teargarden tracks so far) actually sounded decent live in that small studio space. LOUD. so considering i fucking hate Leno, at least i was able to leave somewhat happy. i was also able to secure a 7" from Vintage, thanks to an awesome super cool dude who went and picked one up on my behalf. |

Everyone else agree that this band is more tolerable in normal freaking clothes.

It has been established that no-one recorded the show.

I have to admit this version of Soot and Stars is pretty awesome. Never would have ever thought this would be played live. It's a little bit wanky in parts, but good wanky. It's almost Zwan like actually.
