Which releases do you need to feel like you have a "complete" collection
I'm trying to catalog and organize all my smashing pumpkins stuff, and get it on my computer so it's easy to find.
So, what I need to know is, am I missing anything of importance on this list. I know I have pretty much everything somewhere on backup disc, so I just need my memory jogged a little so I know if I need to locate anything else. I'm gonna start with the more substantial releases, and then go through and figure out which singles and the such are worth having. In "somewhat" chronological order Gish PI SD Mashed Potatoes Gravity Demos MCIS TAFH Adore Demos Adore Machina acoustic demos Machina Machina II Judas O EDIT: Earphoria Last edited by COG : 04-12-2007 at 10:00 AM. |

The only singles I can think off of the top of my head worth bothering with would be TBITEITB and TEITBITE, and the singles from adore and machina era, which would be
perfect ava adore (I don't even know what's on this one) Everlasting gaze (also don't know what's on this one) Stand inside your love I also have some promo disc or something with an alt version of Age of Innocence and some other machina song, I thought that was pretty cool. All the singles from gish/SD/MCIS are pretty much covered on TAFH/PI/Mashed potatoes, right? |

I was thinking RTS might be reel time sessions, but I'm not 100% on that. I may have these, I just don't know what the abbreviations are. |

When I was SP crazy, I would buy anything they would be on, and would consider that part of the collection.
For instance, I have this cd called "noodles in a frenzy" by hut with "thirty-three" on it. I bought it for 5 bucks at a used cd store many, many years back. I don't feel the same about it now, but back then, it was a must have. |

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm getting at, I don't really care about having every release, I just want to have every song pretty much.

Also, if you're going for all the demos, some of the QaOS demos were posted recently on RSPAA.

Off the top of my head you need Sad Peter Pan, Jackie Blue, Christmastime, I Am One (7" version), and Eye.
You're missing a few Siamese era tunes: Never Let Me Down, Apathy's Last Kiss, French Movie Theme, and Dancing In the Moonlight. And then the rarer ones from that era: Purr Snickety and Siamese Dream. Gish era: Smiley, Bullet Train to Osaka, Terrapin. Lull EP. Reel Time Sessions. I also really like the Ransom soundtrack, but I guess technically that's just BC. Wich means you need Ascendo, too. I may have missed some but I needed all of those to feel complete, and not just an mp3. When available I went for the official and promotional releases. |

Speaking of the QaOS demos, wasn't there some guy who said sometime about 5 months back that he would release LMGTWTY adore version if the QaOS was posted? I wondered what happened to him...

The London Hotel Room is pretty cool. I liked that one.
How does CR = Cabaret Metro? I'll have to give that show a re-listen though. Some douchebag was releasing the QaoS on the other board, but decided Esty needed to be banned for any more songs to be released. There was a big pissing match, and everyone decided that Esty shouldn't be banned for the sake of songs we've all heard a gazillion times. Three songs were leaked. |

What's on LHR
I'm surprised pre-gish demos haven't been mentioned. You can compile a pretty solid album off some of those songs. |
