I don't really like very much metal at all, and anything with black metal type vocals is really hard for me to enjoy. I guess Deafheaven is the exception for me

Hmm post metal makes some sense i think. I mean genre names can be annoying and straight up incorrect but as i associate post rock with long-winded and reverby (BORING) guitar melodies you could just add a couple metal riffs to that and call it post-metal.

Russian Circles and Pelican are examples (note: i really like the first 2 Pelican records)

Krallice rips tits but I have to be in the right mood for it. I will listen to anything Marston is involved in. Yellow Eyes is sick, need to spend more time with em. I would say they're defs black metal in some capacity. You might dig Ex Eye or the Tchornobog from last year:

Oh that's just the two BM i really tried cause our drummer is so much into them. It's fascinating music and I think Krallice records their insane albums live in two days or so which i can't begin to understand.
