Jenkins pushed out Cadogan and his replacement Friedianelli, but I thought Salazar left of his own accord. I remember Jenkins saying something like "Arion is welcome to come back to the band if he wants to" after the split. I may be wrong though; Jenkins was a real asshole to his former bandmates.

Truly. Sailing the seas of semi-popular rock music. Supergrass and Gomez were almost completely unknown in the States in 98. Same with Morcheeba. Modest Mouse didn't get off college radio before 2004 - or at least 2000. The Elevator Drops were of the same era. Best band that no one has heard of.

I fucking love The Verve

Ashcroft's artistic decline and bad decisions (seemingly) based off of ego trappings are somewhat similar to Billy's I guess but not even remotely as jarring. First solo album was great, even, & Verve's reunion album didn't suck

Supergrass are also fuckin stellar & I'm surprised they've stayed apart this long. That said it seems like Gaz is doing pretty well for himself

I saw Richard Ashcroft supporting The Stones last month. 3/10

10/10 for the Stones making him his support act and presumably not having to pay him due to royalties from his only good song.

That big Verve album is just so lush and beautiful. The one right before it is great too.

I get the feeling Supergrass isn't coming back. That would be a shame. That rhythm section was a nut puncher.

I got Gaz's latest album. I really dig it. Not as muscular as Supergrass, but I don't think he's going there. I didn't know there was a video, but I can't get enough of this song ...

Only good song, lol. Not even the best from that album

I have few doubts that the 3/10 is unjustified though

Ah! Thanks for the head's up!

Yeah. "Bittersweet" is great, but "Lucky Man" "Sonnet" "Catching the Butterfly" "Velvet Morning?" Shit hot.

A Storm In Heaven and the first Verve EP, that stuff is as good as any early Pumpkins.

Salazar did leave on his own, but it was over Jenkins screwing him on songwriting credits/royalties. Tony also left over money/royalties.

Out of the Vein had some good songs though not as good as the two Cadogan records. Palm Reader's a really good song though, probably my favorite with Tony. Tony, Cadogan, and Arion are touring now as XEB.

I dug deeper into Third Eye Blind earlier this year, those first two records are great. Underrated band that could have grown into something bigger if they'd stuck together.

I saw XEB last year in a bar with about 10 people in the crowd. They were great, played the first album in its entirety. Kevin Cadogan is an underrated guitarist and Arion is a killer bassist. Jenkins is someone whose ego may have even outsized Corgan.

Ugly story upon the royalties of their Bitter Sweet Symphony...:

Ah okay, that makes sense. I figured Arion leaving probably was due to Jenkins being a dick in some way, shape or form. Haven't heard XEB but I'll have to check them out. Both of Tony and Kevin are really good guitarists.

I still think 3EB's later stuff is good though. Like you said, Palm Reader is a great song, as are Wake for Young Souls, Blinded, Forget Myself... hell, that whole album is great. I think I would view Blue in higher regard if they didn't put that fucking Camouflage song on that album. God, what an annoying piece of shit song. I also find The Red Summer Sun really grating because Jenkins sounds like he's doing a bad Brian Johnson impression. But songs like Farther, 1000 Julys and other tracks on that one are really good.

No, are you? A Storm In Heaven is amazing. As good as Gish easily. Anyone who likes shoegaze and psychedelic rock would agree unless they’re some ignorant twat like you appear to be.
