not really feeling this album. some of the music is actually awesome, but I find the guy's voice somewhat annoying, and the melodies are more or less forgettable.

I can think of 4 or 5 songs off of Carnavas immediately that pop into my head, and I don't see it with this album.

Which is too bad, because some of the guitar work is quite lovely.

yeah carnavas rocks out more. This one is more innovative. It keeps reminding me of kid a for some reason. To me this album sounds like kid a + siamese dream.....I mean tracks 1 and 2 fade into each other and theres a ridiculous bass line on track 3. Plus there is a lot of weird stuff going on and shit. I have been stoned all day and nursing jooses but i mean whatev..... track 4 is the best because its about jimmy leaving the pumpkins.

shit i mean I have the 2 b sides on my swoon cdr and table scraps is such a great song........you can just hear the carnavas vibe. It was essentially recorded at the exact same session as carnavas (I dont know how true that is since im not frank quinto rat bastard music recorder/leaker.)

Anyhow track 4 is my favorite followed by track 1 and panic switch is my least favorite song on the album (strange isnt it????)

Last edited by krackhead : 03-29-2009 at 01:58 AM. Reason: I typed the word "leaving" wrong by accident. Is that a crime?

Table Scraps and Mercury were bonus songs on the Japanese release of Carnavas.

This album isn't as immediately catchy as Carnavas but I think it'll grow on me in time.

I'm enjoying this album so far. I was blasting it on the way home from the vet's office and my stoned dog was twitching her ears wildly most of the time... I'll take that to mean that stoned dogs also think it rocks.

This is total 94-95 era SP with maybe a little more polish on the songs, but it sounds pretty good anyway. Sure as hell better than the current SP stuff. It does a better job of capturing "the pumpkins sound" than Zietgiest did.

the music is great, melodies are boring and lyrics are repetitive.

holy shit, having just listened to this for the first time + all the SP bullshit of the last year = the throne has officially passed. i thought carnvas was just ok, a "promising debut," but this delivers big time.

Finally just got this. Enjoying it a lot. It actually does not sound that much like Carnavas. The single is the most Carnavas-esque song on the record.
