I'm in love with this song lately.
It's super cheesy and that's what I love about it. Can almost imagine an 80s style Rocky montage while this plays <3

surprisingly, i'm on a Kozelek roll lately. i say 'surprisingly' because i was bummed out by his concert, so it seems like a peculiar time to rekindle my great appreciation for his past work.

anyway, playing this record now and immensely enjoying it. finally in just the right frame of mind to fully receive it. it clicked for me today. now i think it might be up there with kozelek's best stuff for me. so intimate, intricate, melodic, tender and astoundingly beautiful. baroque-y kind of musicianship. amazing guitar work. koz is bar none, one of the best acoustic\classical guitar players in the business. his command of the instrument is really quite remarkable, and even more so, the unusual restraint he displays with it for like 95% of the time.

damn if those are not some of the best lyrics i ever read

Quote:
You are the suites
Of the cellos
There to mend, if I bleed
You are a swing
Sleepy porches, the warm light
On my face
You are a charge, of wild horses
You are the sun
You are my sun
Seeping over, spilling out
Over the mountains
You are my sun

One of the all-time greatest album openers

Would? is also one of the all-time greatest album closers.

I sensed Kozelek in this thread and clicked. I was right.

Admiral Fell is a great album. The part in 3rd and Seneca when he sings the last verse and the guitar changes is like holy shit dudduduud unfffff
