Default Dean calls for Obama or Clinton to drop out after primaries in June

I think Obama might drop out if Hillary looked to be in lead but I can't see her dropping out no matter what unless she was completely mathematically destroyed.

Dean is a crazy dude, everyone knows this. But it would GREATLY be to the advantage of the democrats for Obama and Clinton to follow his advice.

dropping out in june isn't a tall order. i don't think a candidate needs to be decided right away or anything. but august sounds way too late in the game. but mccain will still be beat either way

I can see why he would say such a thing, but I don't think it would ever happen that cleanly.

If the super delegates decide it, at least one major group of people in the party will feel completely betrayed and disenfranchised, and could damage the party for years to come.

Dean's really screwed this all up, and I can't wait for the media to turn on him full force.

When did he say this? I know he said SD's should announce in June. Dean has been a disappointment, but Pelosi is really mucking things up. Reid looks good by simply keeping quiet.

He said it today I think, I read it on Yahoo news. I was just too lazy to put the link here.

I'm enjoying watching the Daily show continually mock Hillary's campaign. I wish she would just quit tbh, she is fucking it up nicely for the democrats.

Dean is a LOSER!!!!! Why do the Democrats have so many losers in their ranks, and why do they pay so much attention to them, instead of bothering to put up a credible candidate?

i'm not really convinced that this ongoing nomination process is "destroying the party." maybe i'm just out of the loop, but no one i know seems really adament about one candidate to the exclusion of the other. moreover, the media's going to want to blow this out of proportion for ratings purposes, although i'd imagine apathy towards the situation is setting in among many and actually driving people away from news broadcasts.

it's not.

and even if it was, republicans have a lot going against them this year. they're the ones that really need to be worrying.

Exit polls from the last few primaries indicate that a sizeable chunk of voters either want their candidate, or none at all... they'd either vote for McCain, or stay home on election day.

People who vote against their own party because they are unhappy with the candidate are fucking retarded. I do not understand how anyone can logically do that.

"I am so unhappy that the candidate I wanted didn't get nominated that instead of voting for someone who for the most part represents my views I am going to vote for someone who is the polar opposite of what my party stands for."

There are centrists out there who see something to vote for in both parties, thats who everyone is courting in these things. I think those who say they wont vote might come around. Those who say they'll vote McCain are a bigger concern, thats not out of spite, they see something worth voting for.

None of these three candidates are polar opposites on anything

oh that thing in Iraq which Hillary is now pretending to be opposed to after supporting it wholly her entire pre-race career and which Obama will be unable to simply extract troops from without causing an even bigger problem? that thing?

You make no point. Hillary and Obama both have pledged to remove troops from Iraq. McCain says they will stay 100 years if necessary. If this is not polar opposites I don't know what is. I fail to see how Hillary's past record or your faith in Obama's ability to remove troops successfully negates the fact that right now the two democrats are completely for ending the war and McCain is not.

Edit: That is not to say I trust Clinton very much, or believe a troop removal will necessarily be easy or successful, but their stances on the issue are opposite, which is what I said to begin with.

obama's people are already studying how the electoral college will vote in certain areas order to determine who'd be the best running mate.

he's pretty much the presumptive democratic nominee. weirder things have happened, though

EDIT: %75 obama in lake county... its pretty much over, imo

The Clintons have canceled all TV and public appearances.

Senator Obama is going to win the nomination. Expect Hillary to save face by doing something to simply get FL and MI seated, but she's going to concede. It's over.

i really dont think so. unless she wants to do a "gotcha" where if obama loses in november she can say 'i told you so' and open up things for 2012. but it was pretty much 08 or bust to her.
