Default Adore re-issue live disc questions...

Two questions for you all....

1) Is there a quality recording ANYWHERE of the 1998 Adore show at the Grand Ole Opry? They played an entirely acoustic show and I just heard To Sheila from the Adore re-issue (it's on the live disc) and it sounds STUNNING!!!!!!

2) Secondly, what is the 'Sao Paulo sessions'? Four of the songs on the Adore re-issue live disc are from the Sao Paulo sessions and sound GREAT (acoustic based it sounds), but I don't see a corresponding date/entry on spfc... anyone?

Thanks!

They sound stunning mostly because they're official, mastered, soundboard recordings.

Even the crappiest Mike Burns drum fill Jeff e-bow wankoff session would sound pretty okay like that.

Yeah I get that, I was just guessing there might be another, better quality source of the Grand Ole Opry out there that I wasn't aware of.

As for the second question, does anyone know about these 'Sao Paulo Sessions' from 1998? The last disc in the Adore re-issue is a live disc entitled:

Kissed Alive Too
1. Ava Adore (Live/São Paulo Session)
2. Daphne Descends (Live/São Paulo Session)
3. The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete (Live/São Paulo Session)
4. Tear (Live/São Paulo Session)

There are two Sao Paulo dates listed in August of 1998 (the 16th & 17th), but neither one have the songs listed. Any info on what date available?

It was actually only one show in Sao Paulo in 1998, the second one was in a TV show called Programa Livre, where they played "Ava Adore", "Perfect", "Pug" and "1979" (you can find them on Youtube).

A friend of mine still has the setlist of that gig:

Strangely, Daphene Descends is not listed on it, what makes me think if they also played in a radio show as well...

Now that I think about it, I reckon there was a VIP session in Sao Paulo...

was anybody able to figure out the date of the live disc recording "Sao Paulo sessions"?

acoustic:

Ava Adore
Daphne Descends
The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete
Tear

it's neither of the known Sao Paulo dates - 1998-08-16 and 1998-08-17.
did they label it wrong (it's not Sao Paulo at all, happened before on another reissue) or is it an unknown radio session? or a vip pre-set as ForgottenChild suggested?

redbull, CAIC, anyone?

another question:

does your friend remember if they played according to this setlist? because if so, the setlist entries on spfc/splra are wrong.

Pug
Once Upon a Time
Ava Adore
Tear
Annie-Dog
Blank Page
Thru the Eyes of Ruby
Tonight, Tonight
Today
Perfect
(percussion solo)
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Shame
For Martha

Encore:

I was able to confirm this with my neighbors little sister as well. She said it makes the most sense.

Having heard the "X.Y.U" that is on the live disc for years from the Friends and Enemies bootleg, it is very cool to have a better quality version but also weird to hear it from the official source. I can only describe it as being like the "picture" of the sound has been shifted. I have always heard that girl who shrieks obnoxiously at the beginning, but on the new version it was so loud it actually made me jump.
