my ranting and bitching about my illness (which was insanely long btw, ended up being over 2 weeks or so) was a few weeks ago, and now its back a little.
my throat is sore and i get these dry coughs all the time. just a little annoying but fortunately for now it stays at that.

those are exactly my symptoms. i have asthma, so when i am sick it takes longer to shake it off, but this one is ridiculous; i figured i must have caught multiple colds with no pause in-between.

I haven't had a sore/messed up throat this bad in my life. First it gets kind of scratchy/irritated. Then it gets REALLY sore... to the point where even swallowing your own saliva hurts. That lasted for about two days; it was torture. It hurt to talk. Then the swallowing problem wasn't as bad, much more tolerable, but the pain associated with excessive talking increased. Finally, I developed a cough which I still have. My nose gets really stuffy (I find myself blowing out all the nasty shit constantly) and my ear pressure is all messed up. In the mornings I will get really watery eyes and stuff, especially if it feels like some of the stuff in my throat is draining. My mouth produces way too much saliva/mucus. The past two nights, I've had problems sleeping because I kept thinking I'm going to barf because I was swallowing so much. Hopefully tonight will be better. And talking too much while at work, for example, still hurts. If I started to talk right now, it would hurt. Fucked up. I can't even begin to describe how much it hurt to even swallow.

What really startled me is the fact that I even got this. There's clearly something going around, but I NEVER get sick when everyone else is. Colds and the like are rare for me. Can't believe I got hit this bad.

i really hope this year isn't indicative of what's to come germ wise (haha).
i mean, seriously, almost everyone i know got it really bad this year, including myself.
btw my sore throat kinda developed into more, so im officially having the worst winter illness ive had in at least 12 years. probably more.
with germs becoming more and more effective at bypassing all this medication, i hope its not going to be like this from now on...

i finally went to the doctor today. strep throat and bronchitis. i've got some antibiotics now. hope you cats are getting better

what if we all just started dying. what if this was a new plague. that would be intense

My throat is no longer sore, but there's more crap in my nose and throat than usual (but it's better than it was). Sometimes if I'm talking a lot, when I swallow it feels like my tonsils are kind of getting stuck to my throat. But that's because I think my throat is simply irritated from it being so messed up. That said, I am getting better every day and my energy is back. If I had strep throat I'd probably still be really sick. Hope everyone else is doing better too.

And, yes, I really do wonder about how bad colds will be from now on in the winter. I never, ever get sick. In the past maybe my nose would have been kinda stuffy, or perhaps I'd get a bit of a cough, but it was nothing even close to being bad.
