i studied art as an undergrad, so have worked with canvas plenty, though it's been ages. i might re-enter the painting waters before long, but we'll see. |

it's really interesting to me to see that you're (possibly) exhibiting the same pattern as me. i really honestly love painting, but it just takes hold of me in cycles, almost outside of my control in a weird way. i mostly do watercolors and acrylics. it's like, there will comes periods when i'll really get deeply into it for a while, and produce about a painting per day for a certain length of time. then at some point it'll just come to a halt on its own. then, after a cycle ends i may not really be "able" to produce again for months or even years - even though sometimes i may want to - until something triggers it again. it's like an energy bar (the fighting game kind, not the one with nuts/assorted cranberries) that drains and refills outside of my control. i think it's a patience thing; that's why i cannot 'fake it' or produce upon demand (even from myself). when i do my best paintings, i'm able to really meditate on them and get ultrafocused on whatever it is i'm trying to do. achieve a certain contour, or color tone or what have you. and when i'm outside of that, it's really hard to command the patience? at least i think that's what it is. can feel another wave coming soon... can't wait. |

Niiice work, cork.
Those two are my favourites. I really like the mood they convey and the botanical theme. I'd very happily have them on my wall I also envy people that are able to successfully work with charcoal, which you seem to be doing. Is that your preferred medium? I'll need to come up with some energy to find some shit to post, it seems. Keep yours coming, though. Here's a dancing banana |

i don't know that i have a favorite medium, though charcoal is nice, given these challenging times, in that it requires minimal setup and cleanup time, no drying time (obviously), and is relatively cheap. it's well suited to the spare half hour here and there during the work week, which are the best opportunities for me these days. |

hi reprise. i haven’t drawn with any seriousness in probably 15 years — not that i would call what i’ve posted “serious” (in fact, i’m trying to keep it as playful as possible for as long as possible). everything here was done over the course of about the last three months. i’d certainly be open to selling something if someone was interested, though i’ve really just been doing it for fun — and only very recently, at that. i hope that none of this somehow makes me sound like an asshole.
how much cash would you be willing to venmo? . Last edited by cork_soaker : 08-16-2020 at 02:08 PM. Reason: buffoonery |

How are you with requests?
I am absolutely thinking about that one image of Corgan suggesting that, perhaps, we be quiet. |

i’d love to say i’d be open to it, though i fear i’d get as carried away drawing the mustache as bill did growing it maybe if he looked more like, say, a watering can or some sort of leafy foliage, i’d feel more excited by the prospect . I particularly enjoy the 'crispness' of this most recent addition and that tasty depth of field effect.
The second upload in the original post is my personal [tip and] fave. I'm not sure how to put it, but there's something almost cinematic about the way it has been captured as if it were a frame on a roll of 8mm or maybe even a View-Master slide. |
