What does becoming drunk actually involve for you, at this point?

We can use the imaginatively named Canada Day as an example, if you like.

what's your, like, ultimate goal with this fuzzy? cause if it's just not being irresponsible and/or not being dependent (which is all i would ever bother caring about btw) you seem to be going pretty good

Well ultimately before recently I was just drinking every day, and it's like even if I was walking to the store and back I'd have to bring a few beers for the "journey". It had been many years since I hadn't even went a week without drinking and I was just going off the rails man. So even just quitting for a week was a big accomplishment and now drinking only twice in 10 days feels pretty good.

I guess the ultimate goal is to not be a drunk and just drink like a "normal person" and start working on achieving some of my goals. And wouldn't you know it that my sports handicapping has been going way better since I'm not drunk all of the time.

I dunno, I suppose just make getting drunk more of a once every week or 2 event as opposed to a daily thing. Just trying to nip what was becoming a growing dependency in the bud.

I know it's not full on straight edge, but It's not the approach I really wanna take. I suppose the goal is just drinking a little bit when the time calls for it and not when I'm by myself and bored.
Glad to hear. I think the whole "don't drink alone just to stave off boredom" is a good start.

Right, but what will you actually consume in order to achieve that level of intoxication?

I have two cigarettes left in this pack. Then I will try to quit again. Don't really even feel like smoking these last two. And the left side of my throat aches.

I hate tobacco.

Yeah, it's just a terrible habit brother-man. Just stick to marijuana if you must. Much healthier

i think it's pretty weird that tobacco is legal and accepted when it's so awful for you

i mean not that anybody should face legal consequences for smoking a thing, but it's very hypocritical

I think its pretty fucked up that this country brought slaves from Africa to grow tobacco and then export the poison to the rest of the world.

It's been a while since I listened to the White Album. I remember taking nutmeg once and being blown away by pauls basslines.

I enjoy opiates. I ended up being given a small treasure trove of opiates last year. It was a couple very fun weeks followed by one very unpleasant week. Haven't had any since then. I've been on the verge of full blown addiction a couple times and have luckily always recovered. Sometimes I worry that if I start making better money it'll be a problem though. Wish I liked more things that were good for me and less that will kill me.

I don't think I had ever taken opioids until those tramadols recently. They were good but after getting high on them 2 consecutive nights, I felt groggy and tired for like the next 4 days

what's the recreational value of opiates? like i know they were originally developed for pain relief...do you just feel really floaty and nice if you take a lot?

i took a big hit of benzos once that really fucked with me and i felt dazed for like 3 days later.

couldn't remember things, couldn't get hard (sorry), felt like i was hit by a train, was very groggy. definitely didn't enjoy that. i don't think opiates are for me
