But you at heart are correct, Neutral Milk Hotel is NOT for everyone:

- If you think that that in order for a song to be good they need to use at least eight chord changes, then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.
- If a song needs a badass super wicked tasty solo bro! for it to be good, then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.
- If you think the use of bagpipes, accordions and singing saws in a rock song is retarded or lame, then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.
- If you think an album needs to be recorded in a million-dollar studio and needs to have crystal clear fidelity, then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.
- If you are annoyed by surreal lyrics and often say "Wtf is this guy even singing about?" then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.
- If you are easily nauseated by lyrics about semen, fetuses and children being slaughtered by Nazis, wolves and their own parents, then Neutral Milk Hotel is not for you.

No I did not remember that. I figured you at least liked In Utero because there is no reason our demographic should not like In Utero.

Right, and that's why I don't like Neutral Milk Hotel. I don't like his voice at all. Vocals are a make or break thing with bands for me. I love stuff like Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev (who are both far far better than NMH) and Wayne Coyne and Jonathan Donahue both have weird voices but there's something charming about them. I find Jeff Mangums voice to just be...blah. You guys like them and that's great, but I think there are better bands out there.

I love Billy's voice on the 90's stuff. His voice has been weak in the past 5 or 6 years when he stopped trying to sound like himself and there's some songs in the 90's (particularly BWBW and 'wound') where he gets too nasally. But I'm not a member of the "Billy Corgan has the worst voice ever" crowd.

look i'm just saying you make an exception for a very polarizing vocal delivery but not for another. doesn't make any sense.

i mean other than the fact that you're just trying to justify something and bag on a band because pitchfork

just don't like it and be done with it, don't blame hipsters. I sincerely doubt that the only reason anyone likes NMH is to be cool because soniclovenoise is not cool at all, he's very genuine and very enthusiastic about what he likes all hallmarks of the uncool

The name of my solo project is Plastic Surgery Icon. I recorded an album that will be mastered soon but I've already uploaded the first song:

You're creating a really interesting texture with the doubled guitars, and the sparsity of the rhythm... it's unsettling yet it's performed in a way that should be pleasant, so the result is very interesting indeed.

Thanks!

Pedals.. In no particular order I have a boss tuner, cu-3 compressor, a hand made overdrive pedal from a friend of mine in Northampton (his name is Seth Jackson, the pedals are called drop box and I believe can be searched on the webs), Devi ever shoe gazer fuzz (love love love this pedal), boss oc-3 octave, eh nano freeze, eh worm, eh deluxe memory man, and line 6 dl-4 delay unit, which I have on about 90% of the time. Pedal is great and does everything. The board itself was hand made as its a cheaper way to do it.
