Took my dog to the vet. He has these pesky little lump/tumor-esque things on the tops of both his eyelids. First one cropped up last year but wasn't much of a concern until last week when it started "shifting", leaving a little gaping wound in its wake. Little guy got some blood on my girlfriend's white blankets Sunday morning. Vet says either remove them or leave it alone and "run the clock down" (not his words, but my dog is 15, so). I've opted to spend the money (almost a grand) just to get it done and over with, even knowing that he may not even be around this time next year.

He peed on the floor of the office on our way out. My dog, not the vet.

Surgery will be next week, probably. Then it's cone-of-shame time for 10-14 days. Fun.

A grand sounds a little high but I'm used to rat prices. Medication: $40. Spay: $250. Neuter: $100. Heart ultrasound: $250. Appointment: $60.

But I love and trust my vet a lot.

No. He didn't bring it up as an option. They're too small for that, maybe? I mean, we're talking lumps the size of an ant's torso. At that point, may as well remove them. Even if they aren't cancerous, they're becoming a nuisance/health-hazard (I've been cleaning "gunk" out of his eye three times a day since the "shifting" began)/

He said $700 to $900 and me being the skeptic, I am erring on the high side.

I trust my vet. Been using him for almost ten years. He was also the one who put down my ex-wife's (who obviously became ours) old cat a few years back.

He's gonna remove them, sew the eyelids back together, etc. I'm confident I'm not being ripped off, but whatever. The peace of mind outweighs the cost in this situation.

The rats, just like 3 days after their spay surgeries pushed the tiles and tools I had laid to make two separate cage compartments aside and chewed off each other's cones/e-collars. Since they left themselves and their own incisions alone, I left them. They <3 each other

there's only so much mayo mustard tabasco and italian seasoning in oil you can wipe off a pizza sandwich
Bummer!

i'm watching the netflix show "Girl Boss." kind of funny.

There's an episode that depicts a thread on a message board by showing the boarders physically sitting around a huge round table and speaking their posts in real time.

I'd like to see an entire tv show that does this

Well, I don't like the alternative of leaving them there, if that's what you're getting at? Unless you're referring to the cost...

Even if they aren't cancerous, which they likely aren't, they are a detriment to his health and well-being, It's for the best.

cool, let us know how much mike makes when he graduates. you've told us you guys make 60 combined and you make 26k(!) of that.

it's uncouth of you to share that, btw, and show your paystubs to boot-- no matter how much or little you make.
