Interesting...I thought James was the worst most horrible human being ever to live, a solid piece of shit, but judging from these pictures of his storybook family home life I’m not so sure that’s the case. Could Billy have been wrong?

Anyone else been thinking about this whole Manson situation? It's pretty fucked that he was clearly abusing women for years, including ones who have links to SP camp and this was essentially an open secret... it doesn't reflect particularly well on Corgan to have buddied up with MM, including going on tour together and attending his birthday party. Surely he must have known?

yeah, they were throwing in fuck you to the machina set occasionally. check out the austin SBD too. it was never as fucking insane fast as that metro one though

fastest kick i feel would be the pissant bridge or the jellybelly intro where he's playing 16ths on the ride and the kick. but i am open to much more discussion on this point

I have been playing drums since 1994 (on and off) and I have never been able to play the jelly belly intro. I have no idea how he does it.
I know that Matt Walker never did it either, and that makes me hopeful.

i've been studying it for ages haha

i feel like when i play it i never get the crash accents in time because i'm so focused on getting all the snare strokes in there

then the ride/kick section is a sloppy mess because i've never sat down and practiced that, like an idiot

like sometimes live JC will cheat it and do sort of...half time buzz rolls on the snare then accent the crashes in time switching hands. which is pretty easy

That song and drum performance is pure art.
It shows you the caliber of band they were.
I can play along to the song pretty well, it's just the intro that snags me.
The duh duh duh duh duh kick kills me after those snare rolls.

I saw Jimmy cheat by opening up and hitting the cymbals with both hands. It was the show that I watched live on youtube with fellow shitheads from here.

What kind of sticks you use?
After a lifelong of ProMark 5bs and whatever multipack the music store had, I switched to Vic Firth American Classic 5b.

Still on the same pair since around Christmas. With Vater, the brand I used during quarantine, like 8 pairs, with the majority of them split from the top down. Also saw dust.

Do you know what kick pedal Jimmay uses nowadays?

i was using 5As for ages but then i got a bunch of JC's tour sticks from eBay, which were 5Bs and i switched. it's way better having so much more weight in the stick

i luckily barely break sticks anymore; last time was during band practice when i went too hard on the BWBW ending

p sure jimbo uses top of the line DW hardware. he uses a double kick but never actually uses the left side for anything, at least in SP charts
