pretty sure i got the BO under control. i use this stuff

which is a deodorant and not an antiperspirant. and it keeps my pits smelling relatively fresh. got kind of a lemon grass scent.

thing is, the smell on things like old spice (which i love) is incongruous to the look, you know? i don't go around smelling cologne all the time, but none of it has really smelled like something a hippie like me would wear.

are there any fragrances out there that are a little more high end than your drug store variety deodorant, but still appropriate for a dude who looks like me?

I read some articles the other day about trimming your armpit hair so you sweat less and therefore smell better.

Day 1's results were pretty good. Noticable change walking around the mall in a winter coat.

Habit Rouge is a classic fragrance for men which was launched in 2003. This is a reorchestrated version of the original fragrance from 1965. the nose behind it isJean Paul Guerlain. The composition is based on the harmony of fresh and intense citruses in the top (lime, orange and bergamot) and warm oriental balsamic notes in the base. The smoky and leathery nuances in the final notes are contrasting with the juicy beginning. The sophisticated heart is composed of flowers, precious woods with a warm touch of cinnamon.
that sounds nice

I have a vintage bottle of the cologne and a new bottle. Can't tell much of a difference. The vintage bottle seems less "fresh smelling" and more like "powder". It was based on Shalamar (the famous women's perfume) so it's kind of antiseptic smelling with a touches of citrus and leather.

Keith Richards in the book Life said that it was a noticable change in his life when he switched from Old Spice to Habit Rouge so that was my impetus.

Trimming is still a thing? I don't see that many guys topless, somehow I thought shaved armpits are rather common for men.

As long as you have a preference and are able to communicate that preference and they are willing to comply with that preference its A-OK with me.

I wouldn't mind performing any amount of grooming habit to conform with a lover's preference.

That Guerlain deo smells really good btw, it's a bit expensive, though.

As animals, we're trained on scent. It triggers our memory and our emotions.

I'm a scent junkie so I don't mind paying for that stuff.
But if you're on a budget, $30 for your regular deo stick is a bit much.

I'm the kind of person who thinks a man should have a completely neutral smell, if at all. Scentless antiperspirant and nothing else.

I used to feel that way but there is a comfortable balance between the two. If not, your deodorant and soap becomes what you smell like.

yeah, as a girl i agree. all perfume/cologne do is trigger my allergies. instant turn off. nothing better than post-shower smell though.

This alcohol-free stick deodorant glides on smoothly and dries quickly. The formula prevents body odor by blocking bacteria development. Features the sensual and mysterious scent of Eau des Baux - fresh cypress and mellow incense. Free of parabens and aluminum salt.

i've never put my nose to it, but it sounds good to me. and i like most anything i buy from l'occitane.

+ bonsir should appreciate it being free of parabens, aluminum, and alcohol.

oh, and it's 18 clams instead of 30, which is still a lot for deodorant, but a nice little medium.

or you could try

http://www.eaumg.net/wp-content/uplo...08/aromaco.jpg
http://happybellyhappyheart.files.wo...pg?w=300&h=225

If you’re used to using a roll-on deodorant and want to make the leap to a natural alternative, Aromaco is an easy transition. We thought about all of the most effective ingredients for a deodorant and packed them all into this rather magnificent bar. We’ve put in astringent witch hazel, added in absorbent sodium bicarbonate (otherwise known as baking soda), to absorb excess moisture and smells, and fragrant patchouli oil into our creamy cake to keep you fresh, naturally.

6 and change for 3.5 oz.
