'Cause popularity ∝ unpopularity.
It's the same for Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Kanye West, etc.. SP don't get rocks thrown at their concerts because they aren't popular enough to get even the attention of people who don't listen to them. A lot of people don't even know who SP are. |

widow wake my mind: this was my favorite song from the spirits in the sky bootlegs i heard. but that's not really saying much. i just like it cuz it is catchy. didn't translate to the studio all that well, but it doesn't seem like anything has translated very well to the studio over the ten years or so for billy. i don't mind the sappy or optimistic songs if they are catchy..."That's the Way" acoustic live was probably one of my favorite things from the terrible Zeitgeist era. i think this is more listenable than the plodding, unexciting Song for a Son studio version...tho i guess i'm in the minority here.

I hope they didn't fuck up a stitch in time. That song is too damn good, and if they made it sound cheesy as hell and unmemorable, grrr.

Widow Wake My Mind is the type of song you not only reduce the volume, but completely shut off at stop-lights. Never would've thought Pumpkins would put out a song that causes that type of embarrassment.

I believe it. But if it's true, then the mediocre drumming becomes inexcusable in my book. I can take the drumming being below par if it's a case of Byrne trying to fill Jimmy's shoes and just not hitting the mark. I can stand to listen to the ups and downs of Byrne growing into the role if I have to. But if the drumming is weak because Billy is playing it safe and would rather have a mediocre friend play on his songs instead of seeing what an outsider can do, that's a different story entirely.
