i like jamies storyline because i love him and bronn

but lets talk about the time jamie, right when we start to really like him, rapes cersei at the foot of their freshly dead firstborn

what was the point of that? i think ppl are thinking that happens with sansa

reminds me of old Bond movies where women said no and Bond just keeps forcing himself on them and then hollywood sex scene

LIke when Roger Moore tricks a teenage virgin Jane Seymour into having sex with him.

And then in the documentary Roger Moore says it was all in the fun of being James Bond.

starts at 7:00 in

this is a good breakdown from a feminist perspective of issues with the GoT storylines this season

i was shocked they "went there" but it was too in line with ramsay's character to be "gratuitous". guy is joffrey on steroids

ramsay is the most chilling character i've seen in cinema or television.

the whole ramsay\reek storyline got strangely under my skin. i get the same sick feeling i get when i read about really fucked up serial killers when i watch him. relentless sadism and emotional terror

i must say GOT has been sort of dabbing for a long time now

this season is almost ending already, and it has been awfully talky and meandering. there's definitely not very much going on

it really doesn't seem like martin has an endgame and he's lost control of his narrative and the series is now catching up to that problem

bear in mind that i don't think there's any material for season six except for an as yet unfinished unpublished book that's supposedly significantly longer than any previous installment

that's a good way of putting what happens to almost every show or fictional work by anybody. it's so offputting

and it's not really true, wire stays pretty tight. parks and rec is a marvel of plotting. battlestar goes to crazyville but it never seems like it's drifting. i think st:tng gets better as it goes on. Same with DS9. the original arrested development. seinfeld drifted hard but it at least had an endgame, lots of shows have an endgame. people love breaking bad, six feet under, mad men

there's other stuff like dr who and simpsons which does and should exist in this never ending never beginning mobius strip

i haven't been really watching any shows for a long time, this seems like a good place to start.

and i agree about shows that shouldn't really begin or end anywhere.

but lots of premises, more than anything else, just feel writer-lazy.
any asshole can get off on an exciting premise. re: lost
it's pulling it together and twisting and turning that makes it count.

i watched all 10 episodes of The Returned (US version). At it was only today, a week after the 10th episode that I realized that was the season finale. It seems to be another one of those shows that in europe last 8 episodes but in the USA they need two seasons to cover the same ground.

this is totally legit, but im going to wait for ep 9 and if that sucks then its time to give up

season still has brienne, bronn and still has moments like when stannis tells his daughter the truth aboit her grayscale. that made me all fuzzy, i thought stannis was just a cranky weirdass who didnt even know what love is

The only show I ever started, initially liked and then gave up on during its actual run was the walking dead. What a fucking disaster.
