Default MSOTS vs. TFE (Dividing CDs at the end of a marriage)

So my soon-to-be-ex-wife and I divided our CD collection tonight, and while we had duplicates of most of the Pumpkins discography, we only had one copy each of Mary Star of the Sea and The Future Embrace. we had a lot of difficult decisions (who keeps the remastered Cure cds and who keeps the original versions? who gets Interpol, and for that matter, do either of us really want their last album? etc.), but the most difficult decision was Zwan vs. Billy solo. after all, the Pumpkins are the sole reason are relationship began.

so what we decided is that I'd keep Zwan, she'd keep TFE. we'll each rip the one we gave up, and will probably buy a new copy soon. we're both very anal about having actual CDs. i'm now questioning whether i made the right decision. do i really like Zwan more than TFE? can you even buy a copy of either album that isn't used? keep in mind that i've had about 6 beers, so that may have influenced my decision. i don't really know what i intend to accomplish with this thread.

oh yes. it was a lot more difficult than i had imagined. i originally divided everything myself, and then we went through each of our groups to make sure I had it right. i separated into three groups...mine, hers, and argument material.

Why doesn't your wife post on netphoria? She's obviously not a true fan if she doesn't, ergo all her pumpkins shit should go to you. If you bring up this salient point, I'm sure she'll agree.

she's not well liked here. in fact, i don't think i'm well liked here, but i think that's mainly guilt by association.

i say MSOTS based purely on length.

especially if it includes the dvd.

ESPECIALLY if it includes the stickers.

the dvd was one of the major reasons i chose it. that and "I'm Ready". I think I dislike that song more than any other I've ever heard.

i'm sober now (final total was 9), and I think I made the right decision.

and for those wondering, I kept "Let It Come Down", as she didn't want it.

Sorry to hear of your parting ways.

Either choice is ok. For me I love all the work equally.
(Accept one particular song which makes my ears bleed.)

A big plus is, if you remain friends you can share your stuff. Or if not than that's ok too.

Take care. It'll be ok.
