Exclamation Check out all this Smashing Pumpkins stuff some guy is selling on Ebay

Was browsing ebay and noticed this person was selling about 300 Smashing Pumpkins related items..some of the things I'd never heard of...Are these all genuine? Anything good there? He's listed some at some ridiculous prices..but thought I'd link people..not sure if all the things are on Dean's site or not.

It's legit. He attempted to sell some of this before under name cityal. His ridiculous prices keep people from bidding.

And what is Dean's site? I'm interested.

The ridiculous prices and the fact that he's too lazy to write down a decent description of the items and the state they're in.

I don't think Thom still works on the site though. But he was one of the people who started it

You know what's awesome? Thom had asked me a few years back if he could use the scans/images from my site (www.geocities.com/collectspumpkins/index) and put them on the site.

I obviously offered, because I am the epitome of beginner HTML. Plus if we could have a site like Steve Hemming's original (which was stellar), then the entire community could benefit. The funny thing is that nowhere on the "hall of fame" secton do I even receive a credit/acknowlegement for them essentially ripping off my pictures. At least give credit where credit is due, that's all I'm saying.

I think that must be a misunderstanding. Maybe Thom is the one who asked you for the scans, but at the time they were making the "hall of fame" he was no longer around to remind them of your contribution?

I'll forward your post to spfreaks.

Hi Arthur here from "this quoted website". Because the webmasters here don't like it when I mention it, I hope you can guess what we are talking about.

Cool As Ice Cream is 100% right, collectspumpkins. In 2003 we 3 started this website together with a German guy, and the only remaining founder is me. Thom disappeared without leaving a trace about 1-2 years ago, and probably still having tons of info somewhere. In 2006 we were down, in January 2007 we started it all up again and created the Hall Of Fame for the contributors to come.

collectspumpkins, I have browsed your website a few times long time ago, and I realize we have a few pics from there on our site. I should also have realized that you should have been in this Hall also, amongst a few others from the long past. The reason this never happened is because we never had direct contact with each other about this website and your contribution.

To cut a long story short, I hope you can accept my personal humble apologies. Be assured your name will be on the Hall in 5-6 hours when I'm back home.

Sorry collectspumpkins, sorry.
Arthur

I also do not receive a mention on SP Freaks!!! Although I can't say that i'm that bothered really even though you have used scans of at least 10 of my sp items and obviously the scans of my gish gold cd didn't even warrant being put on the site! By the way this could be me 'James, United States (scans and info)' but I live in the UK not US!

Sorry to you also Smashing Turnip. It is corrected. As I told collectspumpkins before, also you and I never had direct contact, as it was all done by Dean (Thom). This direct contact (many many many contact links on our site and forum as you probably have seen) would have been enough to correct things. I would like to call everybody to contact me directly about those issues, instead of posting it somewhere in the darkness of a far-away forum. Deal?

Thanks,
Arthur

Hello people.

I've resurfaced. I haven't been here in probably 2 years. I just wanted to offer a huge apology to Dave and Mr Turnips, no excuses, just a sincere apology. Arthur, I'll be in touch.
