Working class ppl have spoken. Saith the people:

"We have not the requisite education and information processing skills to vote in our own best interest. And yea, the socialists of chardonnay and craft beer decry our ignorant rebellion against the lesser of two evils. For they see not the littlest of differences it doth make, for ourselves and our progeny."

looks like Michigan was the deciding state. Early totals show trump winning Michigan by 60,000 votes. However, 160,000 people voted Libertarian. Another 50,000 voted Green Party. Third party candidates handed the presidency to Trump.

This is almost identical to 2000 when Bush won Florida because of third party votes. I know a LOT of people who voted Libertarian this year because they thought Clinton would win. They'd never have done so if they thought the state would fall to trump. I had (past tense) one friend who spent all night tonight on FB bragging about voting against Clinton for "payback" for beating sanders in the primary. Of course, these are all cisgender white men who have little to lose.

I have LGBTQ friends in Michigan who are terrified right now. Some of them are now married. It's very likely that within a couple of years the new GOP court will take their rights away completely. There are half a million arab and persian immigrants in Michigan. They're terrified.

My biggest worry right now is economic. If the GOP gets their way on the next budget we're in for a seriously horrible economic patch that will make brexit look like a joke. In the morning i'm moving all of my 401k into low risk. Buy Gold now. Bury your silver in the back yard. Head East to Canada as soon as possible!

not accurate. you mean to say "working class white men". The majority of every other group probably voted for Clinton

Pence will be the actual president. I only hope that Ruth Bader Ginsburg stays alive for 4 more years and doesn't retire

You think there's gonna be a backlash 2 and then 4 years down the line because Idk maybe 51% of this country is just irredeemable

Move to a liberal bastion state/City and hunker down for life

Or at least until the minority population gets high enough

it's just incredible that if you were to tell someone in the 90's that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be governor, and Donald Trump would be president of the United States, you would have been labelled absolutely insane.

Nah people love drama it seems, and love to vote for famous people. That is a big, big problem. The worst part about all this is not that Trump is a despicable person (probably mainly because he's a rich guy land developer all around scumbag) but because along with the house and senate being in the red and the sc where it is he may actually suceed in taking rights away from others. That is the saddest part. Anybody that truly wants to see that is beyond saving.

That Idiocracy movie really didn't need to be set five hundred years into the future, as it turns out.

But hey, it's now legal to sell and possess marijuana in my state. And no background checks required for guns purchased at gun shows.

Yipee-kay-yay!

It's true. People in this country always vote for the most "interesting" candidate, regardless of policy. That's how we got the recovering alcoholic president that everyone wanted to share a beer with. And then Obama. And now, this giant orange shit-smear.

We are truly lost to celebrity worship.

I used my lunch break to vote a straight democratic ticket and also bring another hillary voter that didn't have a car/walked to wrong polling location and would otherwise not vote and also no on crasinos and yes on the other one, and for the 3 uncontested board of education folks. So no "wasted vote" here. The pic I posted is from the district I work in but not the one I vote in. Idk who did those write ins if you're asking. So I didn't campaign for her but it's not like my state dropped the ball or something.
