Default Nicole Fiorentino Confirms She Was Dismissed From The Smashing Pumpkins

http://blastecho.com/nicole-fiorenti...hing-pumpkins/

Quote:
BlastEcho reached out to both Fiorentino and Byrne to better understand why they’re no longer Pumpkins, but only Fiorentino responded. Over email, Fiorentino confirmed that she was let go by Corgan but that “the circumstances look very different from my perspective than from Billy’s.”

“I know my heart was in it 150% ‘til the end,” she wrote, “and no one can tell me differently. It was my whole life.”

also her band's song is the same riff as La Dolly Vita

also i think they're all lesbians

how could her heart be in it 150% if she was also doing that other band????

LIAR ALERT!

jokes aside, she was good for the band. billy probably fired her because of mike. like he HAD to fire mike, and somehow she's part of the same era package. too bad. but too bad he didn't send home jeff too. BOO!!!!

What? people actually think Nicole may have quit?
I agree with T&T though. The Mike situation was going sour quickly, and you look like a huge jackass if you just fire some 20 year old whos dreams you've made come true, so you may as well just cut the cord on the whole era.

And I don't think Billy was impressed with all of that drama Nicole was partaking in on the message boards with guys like Belte. It was all pretty unprofessional behavior for a hired hand to be taking part in.

Wasn't Corgan complaining about fans calling these people 'hired guns' when they were with the band? And talking about, after being in a couple bands that didn't work, he finally found people who he could trust and we're his soulmates and all that shit?

Then the hired guns became fired guns.

Probably the best female bassist he's had, too. Though actually, Ginger wasn't bad.

Agreed Nicole was a great player, IMO probably best bass player bill's had with him during his entire solo career since 2003

I dunno, Ginger came up with that line on Owata, that's one of the most interesting the the SP canon. Not that I'm saying much with that statement, I guess.

I think that had more to do with the Machina direction and aesthetic than it did her own personal style. As far as talented bassists go, I think she was the best.

Nicole revealed that Meghan Toohey came along when Billy tried (and failed) to write songs together with Jeff, Nicole & Mike in Sedona. Meghan wrote songs for The Cold and Lovely there.

[Wikipedia: "Meghan Toohey's current band, The Cold and Lovely, released their first single titled "Not With Me" from their upcoming album on their website on April 24, 2011."]

>>>

Nicole: We went there to write the record that I was on with them...Oceania...we went to Sedona, Arizona to write, so Meg came along with me.

Interviewer: That band (SP) writes together???

Nicole: Ehhhhhhh....well, that's tricky.

Interviewer: You don't have to talk about it.

Nicole: [laughing]...that was tricky...we tried!...we definitely tried.

Meghan Toohey: It didn't quite work out for them but for me it was like a carthardic experience.

Seems 100% that Bills just didn't like them having a side projects - probably because he hired them with the intent of injecting SP with their youthful musical ideas and whatnot.

How many side projects did Bill have during this time? Tea palace, book, wrestling, right wing musings. Wasn't he still on Facebook and Twitter bullshitting, too? My point is that, once again, what is good for Billy isn't for his contractors.

Mike was weighing down the band, but I never had an issue with Nicole. I hope she's doing well and is happy.

Billy you fucking idiot. Like I get that Mike had to go, he wasn't exactly amazing but Nicole is probably one of the best bass players you ever had in the band

Had nothing to do with side projects. They were going, talented and cheap to employ.

The cold and lovely was Nicole's partner's solo project. Nicole helped record the songs, but other bass players would sit in for live shows when she was away working with Bill.

That was just an excuse for firing them. Insead of saying that he was sick of them, of bored with them or simply didn't want to be around them anymore, he once again blamed others. Kind of like how he spent 15 years telling us that James was a horrible piece of shit liar.

This wasn't too different than bill firing Zwan. He blames other people for his own shortcomings. And Bill obviously doesn't get along well with others.

this is pure speculation. he has the track record that proves otherwise.

Fuzz do u even read netphoria

We were just talking, just the other fucking day, about Melissa plonk plonking all over the guitars, and we had a quote from bill bitching about her style

It most def was NOT an aspect of the machina era or style, it was her playing style. Talented or not, she was not a good match for SP. This is one area where I agree with bill
