Did the terribleness of Everything Now reveal to u the emptiness of Reflektor?
Gosh dunno bout u dummies + jr scientists
But for me, after fully insufflating the lukewarm vomit job that our former godconsciences of indie, the renowned af, did on their dud lp everything now, reflektors no fun anymore: it’s been revealed for what it was all along, a flashy yet ultimately dull sermon about smartphones, delivered by a gaudy gaggle of humorless northerners, who would rather we ignore their sanctimoniousness in favor of their (admittedly hilarious) appropriation of a shallow Mardi Gras fantasy of what some red nosed pale faced northerners imagine Real Live Mardi Gras must be like |

Bah. Not enough care. I have Funeral, Neon Bible and Suburbs from this band. Anything else is just gravy.
For the record, I didn't hate Everything Now, but it's definitely one of those things I forget exists for long stretches of time. A very timely topic as we wind down 2019, bee tee dubs. |

Arcade fire died after the Suburbs. 3 great albums, not too shabby

Reflektor and Afterlife are two awesome songs that I still cherish. I would add that Supersymtry ain't too bad. The rest indeed feels empty, especially reflecting back on the album.
Everything Now is a flaming pile of trash, kind of like the Pumpkins last album.. Shiney Bight whatever it was called. |

I never got through reflektor and haven’t listened to a second of everything now. Kind of a staggering drop off considering how much I like the first three.

Reflektor is pretty good and it's backloaded. If the whole album were as solid as Orpheus, Eurydice, Porno, Afterlife then it would be as good as anything else they'd released

"Afterlife" is the best song by a mile from their most recent two albums. Reflektor could have been a pretty solid single album - just needed to be trimmed back. "Everything Now" didn't do shit for me, which is a shame. It makes me question where the band is going next, which is strange: because Funeral, Neon Bible and Suburbs (in descending order of quality, I'd contend) are all just so damn good. Saw them on the Funeral tour in 2005 righttttt as it was starting to take off. They were still setting up and taking down their own stage equipment and played second of the day at a festival out on the main stage. It was great. Then we saw them another 5 or so times between then and 2010 and it was still on point. Seeing them live and when they would drop from Wake Up into Rebellion during that encore - man, I swear that half of those rooms would lose all bowel and bladder control and would stand around singing that vocal part over and over and over again. Know that their last tour got mixed reviews, but I didn't see them on that one. Do we know what their gameplan is next? In related news, this underscores how great that song is: |

Reflektor always sucked. The Suburbs will always hold a place in my heart since I grew up in the neighborhood the album is about.
Arcade Fire has always been meh. |

I find all their albums to be about the same level of quality...good not great, with a few exceptions (wake up, sprawl ii, reflektor, no cars go..) . Impressive live (saw them in 05 and 17). Would see them again
