I'm so exhausted right now. So much stuff going on... launching a 4th label and organizing a joint tour for KOAN Sound and Culprate.... so yeah it's a basic copy-pasta of part of the kit.

But seriously check these guys out! Very talent lads!

now im off to eat a xanax and go sleep for days

Hey, my band is featured on this new compilation called Daydream Generation vol 10... It's a new song called "Anna Livia Plurabelle" which will also be on our next record. Check it out if you want.

You can download the entire 2CD compilation for free at:

Minneapolis/St. Paul? Who the fuck are you?

You should come to my band's show on the 23rd. Free food aparently. Kelly's on Boone, Brooklyn Park. We got a bluegrass band, an electronic/dancey thing, a psyche-pop band (us), a cheese-metal band, and a garage rock duo.

Hey you fuckheads!

My band is on this compilation, a Flaming Lips tribute thingy. I was one of the two guys who organized it, but whatever. Anyways, we covered an older Flaming Lips song called "Halloween on the Barbary Coast." Also, our guitar player--a certain former Netpho mod--did a cover of "Ma, I Didn't Notice" and that's all him solo.

It's all a free download and all that jazz. Check it out if you like The Flaming Lips.

sonic,

does the Facebook music model they just got have any redeeming qualities? Or is Facebook going the way of Myspace because of Goldman Sachs butting in on their biz and gonna try and fix what isn't broken and veer off the original momentum that it made it popular?

Took a few years but once Murdoch bought myspace, I had a bad feeling it wouldn't go over very well. Now with GS trying to prop up Facebook as a new IPO bubble, I have that same feeling this won't end well. In the meantime, Facebook for bands, how's it working? If it does work well, myspace is done done, like, not even tumbleweeds would bother.

Well, I don't know about the politics behind it, but I think it's great, I see a lot of bands using it for promotion but putting their music up at bandcamp. The thing about myspace is that it takes too long to load, and all the custom pages became douchebaggy. And everyone just left of course, so only the bands were left--but only because it was a good way to put your booking demo or whatever up. But now you can do that on bandcamp and even fb...

So yeah, I think the fb thing is pretty good. So if my band is playing a gig, I just create an event on fb and invite a bunch of people. Then some of those people will end up "liking" it, and their friends who don't know me will see that persons activity it and go "huh?" You know what I mean? Networking... We have 84 people who "like" us, but I only actually know 29 for them.

I also use our fb page to archive pictures, since I don't really like photobucket or flickr. And you CAN actually put music up on your fb with a special app called BandPage, although it just links the media from your soundcloud accont. Our fb thing is here:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Cu...6861793?v=info if you want to see the BandpAge app.

O.K. Sounds reasonable and useful and good to hear your using it to your benefit. Overall it sounds like FB has improved the music model a bit and since their the biggest internet flag out there for networking, I suppose it's here to stay for awhile.

yah...Goldman Sachs...they floated this meme out there and gave a preliminary valuation of FB at 50 Billion. Rather suspicious and it harkens back to the internet bubble in Silly Con Valley during the 90's. Anyway, I don't think they got many takers as the whole thing appears to be a scheme to get cheap money from investors (with GS holding all the cards to get out early while investors wouldn't be able to cash out for at least 18 months from the IPO).

So...for FB...if they get too caught up with Goldman Sachs and lets say, an uprising in the states occurs that's similar to what's going on in Egypt right now, GS's name would be mud and by extension FB might face a similar backlash. All speculation of course but in some ways that's what happened to Myspace when Rupert Murdoch bought it.

Hey party people.

For those who still care, I went back and remastered my band's album... It had always bugged me how quiet it was, and so I spent some time remastering it (well, the original was never really mastered in the first place, but whatever) and I think it's much louder, but with out losing the dynamic range it had. I also meticulously made sure there was no clipping for you Mary/Star fans.

So here it is, the remastered version... http://www.mediafire.com/?mp2bpgr3pf56ca3

I'm in the process with replacing all our old versions with this--already upped the new one to last.fm and I'm currently working on bandcamp--but of course the old unmastered version will still be available on what.cd and waffles if you prefered that version, so don't worry.

Enjoy!
