Crowded House - Crowded house.

Mean to me? Don't dream it's over? Hole In The River? Classic. Stone cold five star classic.

First cassette - Really hard to say, probably Weird Al Even Worse when I was like 9 or 10.

First CD - I think I bought Sgt. Pepper when I was 12 or something, at the Mall of America.

First vinyl - I remember most of my LPs were hand me downs, so I don't think I really bought anything. Might have eventually been either a Lifter Puller or a pAper chAse 7" at one of their shows when I was 19 or 20.

first tape had to be weird al's greatest hits when i was 10 or 11, probably in '89.

first cds i got were the guns n' roses' use your illusion albums. shortly after i acquired a bunch by abusing columbia house/bmg.

first lps i bought were at a flea market type thing when i was 15 or 16, grateful dead's 'terrapin station' and zeppelin's 'song remains the same'. it was at least 10 years before i got to listen to them properly.

Yes i mean i went full digital eventually. I do have a small CD tower somewhere in the storage room that i havent touched since i ripped all the CD's i cared about in it over ten years ago. I haven't bought a physical record (CD) since 2001.

Oh i see.

Well yes I said in the other thread I actually understand the need to have physical things.

Records it's just... I don't see the point in owning records much since what you want from them (ok what I want) is the music which is not a physical thing. The rest is superfluous to me. But i guess one could say what you want from a book is the text which you could have on a digital format... Look i don't know, you want me to say im a hpocrite!? FINE IM A HYPOCRITE! LEAVE ME ALONE.

Maybe someday ill have a tablet and realise i don't have a use for physical books anymore. For now i prefer reading that way. Even if i hate opening book editions i prize because i don't want to damage them........

I actually stopped buying books like 2 years back though cause i realised in spite of myself that it seemed i liked the idea of owning books more than i liked reading them

When is there gonna be a trend of retro boybands with Max Martin style singles? Or does Korea have the market locked down

I think this is the first album I ever owned. Mom bought it for me when I was like 13 after my friend showed me some Weird Al music videos. First artist I really got into. Lol.

first CD was Batman Forever ST, followed by Nirvana Unplugged in NY.

first vinyl record was Talking Heads 'Speaking in Tongues'.

as far as first cassette, i really have no idea. maybe moist 'silver', ugly kid joe 'amerca's least wanted', or megadeth 'rust in peace'.

CS: probably Siamese Dream, 1997
Vinyl: either a Phil Collins/Genesis or Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American, 2002
CD : Pisces Iscariot, 1998 maybe
mp3: def a Pumpkins demo off pumpkins.net realplayer, 2000
